Chrome trim rings... noisy and moving...

I have the police wheels with center caps on my 2001 LS. I just bought a set of chrome (stainless steel) trim rings to compliment the center caps and I'm having a problem with the trim rings on the front wheels shifting or spinning forward after a few miles of driving/cornering. They will spin slowly until they are binding on the valve stem, then stop. The rear wheels seem to be fine with no movement at all. The other problem I'm having is that the front rings make a "creaking" noise which is audible enough that if you drive through a quiet parking lot at ~5mph, you can hear it out the window creaking and creaking.
Anyone have this problem with the trim rings? I'm thinking about just going with a set of the plastic ones and be done with it... let me know.
Thanks.

Well, it looks like new tires solved my problem. The old tires' sidewalls were rubbing on the very edge of the trim ring causing it to make noise and move while driving (something I couldn't see when driving, obviously).
Case closed!
