when i start my 1998 windstar(3.8) all lights go out as normal. when i drive and touch the brake there is a kind of grinding/clunck there. after about two hundred metres the abs light comes on and stays on and the traction control light (off, yellow one) constantly flashes and the brakes feel normal again.i only recently bought this car and cannot recall the green traction control ever working properly....any ideas please...

Hello
What I think is the grinding sound is your ABS pump kicking in. This may be because one of the rear ABS sensors is bad/dirty/out of adjustment.
Depending on how much you do on your vehical depends on if this is a driveway fix or bring it in.
Do a search on this forum for ABS. You'll find a lot of info.
