high idle that will never die!!!!

ok, i have an intermittant high idle, around 1500 - 1700 RPM, sometimes im sitting in nutreal at a light and it just kicks up, for no reason, and most of the time it just starts when im slowing down when i puch in the clutch.. ok so ive tryed many things, i clean out my air intake system, including IAC, EGR, NEW PCV, and air intake manifold( i think), but bascally all parts, and it keeps comming back, i just cant figure it out, ive read all the common factors for a high idle and im just stumped, PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!!! OMG its driving me crazy!!!

I was wondering if you ever found the solution/cause.
I have the exact same problem on my 91 SL1. My next option is the oxygen sensor.

ya im stumped and it seems to be a very common problem with saturns, ive pretty much done it all, not the O2 sensor, but i may try if there not that pricey, im just tired of doing things to my car that dont help the problem, im not that rich

for manual transmission saturns, a slight idle increase in neutral or with clutch in while rolling that drops when the car stops moving is normal. it is designed to prevent damage to the drivetrain. the amount of increase depends on the driver skills with the clutch (how the PCM determains that, i have no clue) but, i have seen other drive my saturn and have made this "rolling idle" increase from my 1200RPM to over 2000K(they were really bad with the clutch, my base idle is 900). heres a tip - don't ride the clutch, shift in to neutral during decel and at red light, don't hold in the clutch.(these three can even extend the life of your engine and clutch)

It's probably not the O2 sensor, just unplug it to see what happens. Did you check the ESTC and it's connector? Did you check for vacuum leaks? If you unplug The ESTC while idling on a automatic, it will run up real high. Sierrap is probably right, it's by design. There are some other screwy things that the engineers set up the PCM to do, like the cooling fan on temp.
