try resetting your ecu?
w/ those minimal mods, I highly doubt you're running lean...

I HAVE A CRAPPY INTAKE ALMOST SAME AS APC. BETTER THAN STOCK, BUT CAN'T BE MORE THAN 1-3 HP GAIN. NO CHANGE NOTICED IN GAS MILEAGE. PICKUP SUCKS, BUT ONCE I GET GOING, I CAN GET A LITTLE BIT OUT OF IT. GOT IT OFF EBAY FOR $21. CAN'T BEAT IT!!

Bc the intake could be screwing the velocity of the air into your engine Im not for sure, but I had a friend who put a 3 1/2 pipe and filter on his teg, ruined his gas mileage and low end, but helped out higher in the rpm's.

the 3" exhaust is way too big for our little 1.5's take it down to at most a 2.5" then reset your ecu and drive around again, it should run better.

3" exhaust is way too big. Having pipe that big should make you car slow as hell off the line. If i were you i would get new exhaust and have someone do it in 2 inch. Someone just did a post a bit ago that i replied to on mandrel or crush bent exhaust. Go and read that before you do much of anything.

You don't need much more than a 2" exhaust on a 1.5L. Contrary to popular beliefs, too much back pressure and not enough back pressure are both bad things. Since you have such a large exhaust, the exhaust gasses don't move as fast, and get colder and slow down inside the pipe, causing the exhaust gas behind to have to push the gas ahead of it out, causing inefficiency and bad performance. Too small of a pipe and the exhaust gasses can't get out fast enough and it restricts engine performance. Get a mandrel bent 2" exhaust put on your car, and for god's sake take off that big ass tip.
