Does anyone know where I can rent the tool to pull out the front hub from the knuckle? I have one with 3 forks on it for my ford, but it wont work on my Honda.

You can rent them from most major parts stores (auto zone, o'rieleys).

I would go ahead and buy one. They come in handy. And they actually cost about the same to rent and buy one. I had to do an axle in a 93 civic and i didnt have one and i was just going to rent one and i think it was like 20 bucks from shucks and like 18 to buy it. And its called a pickle fork.

Pickle joint seperates ball joints, not removes hubs. And if you rent from autozone or o'rielies you get your deposit back in full when you return it.

all you need pickle fork is to loosen tierod..then you take 2 bolts out of strut and bolt out of lower balljoint this loosens everything you need and take brass hammer and smack the end of axle after you take nut off axle it should come rite loose from hub..pull hub off then there you have it...

good luck.....

Get a gear puller, line the middle up with the axel and pull it off.

i'll tell you you really don't need pickle fork..but when you take the 2 bolt's out of strut that connects to hub..ok then take your bottom balljoint bolt out and you take little hammer if you do need to break it loose then you need a bar to pry down on lower control arm this will let your hub loose from everything you need to get hub off..and if you haven't got tierod loose yet smack rite beside where knuckle go's threw hole that is connected to hub.. now you do all that and knock axle loose.. it don't take much on axle to when you hit it you should have hole hub rite in your hand...i hope i exsplained it good enough anyway hope so?? let me know if you have any problems i do this day in and day out...

good luck to ya......

I don't see where I said "I tried to take it off and couldn't." I haven't even tried yet. I like to have the tools around to do something before I start. Go figure.

Maybe you should pay a little attention??
