i have a 97 sable that i just bought, but the turn signals and hazard flashers don't work. I checked the fuses, but they were all fine. I'm leaning towards the fact that it might be the flasher but i can't find the thing anywhere. Can anyone help me out please?

It stays on when im driving the car and i was just wondering if there was a way to turn it off or if it's supposed to turn itself off...any help is appreciated

i went out and bought a Haynes manual, and it turns out that the flasher wasn't the problem...i am thinking that the turn signal switch may be a possiblity? i hear this is a tough task to tackle, can anyone give me any insight on this at all?

Go to the Taurus forum and search on "Headlights issue". There I explain how to remove the turn signal switch. Your floor light should turn on and off with the light in the ceiling. Is the ceiling light working at all? It might be not be working so you are only noticing the floor light. The problem there is probably the door ajar switch. You will find many entries on that problem and how easy it is to solve by just soaking the door latches with WD40 to clean the contacts.

thanks a lot for the help...and no, my ceiling light is not working when the door opens...but my floor lights shut off after the car is shut off for a while... :dunno: the only way that my ceiling light comes on is when i actually hit the switch on the light to turn it on...is there a way to get it to come on when the door is open? and how exactly can i fix the footwell light problem? thanks again for the help

time for an idiotic moment, my dimmer switch was turned all the way to click, which was making the interior lights come on :banghead:

I try not to ask if the dome light switch is turned on because so many people get offended for asking that question.
