swapping engine??

OK, i have a 1994 sc1. and well, the SOHC isnt giving me the power im wanting. I plan on swapping out the engine for a DOHC, but the only problem with that is that... its insanely impossible to find a 94 DOHC engine for my car. So here is where you guys help me out. I was wondering if any other year DOHC engine would mount into my car without major modifications (custom engine mounts, etc.). And what years could i fit into my slowish car? thanks alot.
