First thing to do is buy the sparkplug socket that has the long extension built into it. Otherwise you'll have a socket stuck down inside the valve cover that is nearly impossible to get out. When the engine is cold, lay something with some padding on top of it, because you are going to have to climb on top of it to reach the plugs. I've always down one at a time, starting at the passenger side. Pulling the wire, sliding the socket/extension down onto the plug. Connecting the ratchet to loosen until the ratchet is almost to the firewall. Removing the ratchet and if the extension wouldn't turn by hand yet, use some visegrips on the extension. Once unthreaded, pull out the socket/extension with the plug in it. If the rubber grommet that is inside the socket isn't strong enough to grab the plug, I put a small piece of paper towel inside to make the fit tighter. By the middle plug, there is a mount for a vacuum valve that needs to come off to give you room to that plug. Unplug the electrical connection, unplug the vacuum lines, then unbolt the mount. Perform the reverse after you change the plug. If you don't have the correct socket/extension, you'll have to remove the intake to make enough room for access. That can be very time consuming and has it's own perils, cheaper to get the socket than buying gaskets and possibly snapping bolts, like those to the exhaust heat riser.
