I have a 96 SC1 with oil mixing into the antifreeze.
My question is where is it coming from the head or the block?
The head was already removed and it was not warped and I did not see any visible cracks, but I did not have it checked by a machine shop yet.
I guess the knowledge I am looking for could it be cracked internally in the head, or in the block.
If in the head is it repairable?
So I can make a decision to replace the head or get it repair.
Thanks for any info,

Let me guess coolant looks like choc. milk. The cracks are very hard to find but it is a cracked head. Common enough problem were I'am confident in saying it is the head (save the money on the machine shop and get a head). Some are going to tell you you should replace all the rubber hoses and everything else. the life of these compents has been reduced slightky but as long as you flush the system (until you get clean water comming out you should be fine

Thank you very much for the info.
On the flushing of the system, i purchased a 3 quart bottle of greased lightning poured half of it and mixed it with water and removed the thermostat. flushed it twice with G.L. than flushed it with regular water until all clear. it did a awesome job getting all the goop out.
Second question is there an aftermarket version of the head, or is there a newer year that will bolt-on that might have a better chance of not cracking.
What is the going price for a replacement head?

SPSwebpage.com sells a few performance heads but they are still the OEM casting. any 96-mid99 should fit, i don't know about mid99+.
also you should check your bearings and oil pump.
