Owned Me A Sti

I went to the races last night and owned me a modified sti. The guy thought he was all bad-ass. well we lined up and he got me on the launch, well i quickly caught up and smoked him by atleast five car lengths. and the races were out in the desert so there was no people to hurt. someone did hit a coyote though

what mods on the STi?

i asked him after the race and he said he had cai, headers, cat-back and pulleys

No smokey and i didn't race, we've raced once and i took him. but his whole front end looked pretty bloody

dunno what year the one was he raced but the 2k4 models had a 13.4 1/4, 2.11 60', and 300 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 300 lb ft @ 4,000 rpm according to http://www.ridgewaybodies.com/sti/

i believe the sti's stock are 300hp and 300tq and it weighs 3351

Sti's are no push overs, so anyone who is able to take one from off the line (where they have the advantage due to AWD) is definetly making some impressive numbers. Kudo's boys.

I can't take them off the line yet. I know guys here getting STOCK ones to a 1.7 60 foot. It takes EVERYTHING my car has to catch that by the end of the 1/4.

Thats impressive. Sti's arn't cheap either. Seems like he should've been keeping up better with the upgrades he did have. Pushing out almost 300 hp stock. Nice kill for sure..

Oh i forgot to mention i just added a nitrous works gm efi nitrous kit :ylsuper: :evillol: i used a 100 shot of nitrous on that run against the sti, it was my first racing since i got it installed and it's the best bang for your buck.

what mods do you have because my buddy always gets owned by lt1 and especially ls1 maros

GReddy Upper and lower intercooler piping, HKS SSQ, HKS filter, HKS catback, Koni struts, Skunk2 Coilovers. 18" rims that hinder my launch.... a turbo timer...doesn't do anything for performance but it's there... And i'm getting an SAFC2 sometime this month.

STi can turn way better than a 13.6. besides the drag isnt what the STi is really built for. Lets see your IROC go off road w/ that 100 shot. Or maybe a race in the rain? No, no...you should try and race them through the turns.

My IROC handles good especially in the turns. If you have ever driven in a camaro you would know it's like driving on rails, and i don't have a stock suspension so i handle alot better than other cars.

Exactly, Camaros arent push overs even on turns, just need a more experienced driver, thats all. Hell if STi's arent made for dragging then they shouldnt be drag racing! And NO ONE races when its wet except idiots.

Ive seen so many auto-x's and GT races in the rain....not everyone only drags you know. Kinda off topic but, if i was gonna run from cops. id way rather be in an STi in a heated drive than your clunker camaro. were talking a more technologically sound, safer, and IMO, better driving car vs a car that is 10+ years old and probably doesnt even have airbags or ABS. Still....the STi is WAAAAY more expensive. but for all i know you could have tons of $$$ into that IROC.

The majority of them out there are far from clunkers and with the strong following I am sure you know they have many keep them running in top shape. As for high speed pursuit your out of your mind if you would rather be in a STi as any one who knows anything about them or owns one will tell you they fall flat on there faces up top. They are a great car for a 1/4 or for light to light racing but far from a top speed cruiser.

hell yeah. LS1 is and always will be a freaking monster. The SS handles nice but i dont know if it can hang w/ the STi in twisties. itd be close. The STi is way easier to drive fast. For newbies AWD>RWD

You should check up on electronical speed limiters, cause a stock STi first off will not hit 160 even if it had its limiter removed, second given enough room I am sure they could get going good but they do not accelerate up top like they do off the line due to AWD drag and aerodynamics.

Only Copmaros have this done.. well all cops have the same thing done but get different results.. all cop cars get their speedometer altered, cop tires, cop suspension, and a special chip which is what boosts the LT1 HP from 270-280 to 350

im sure the STi only has like 220 to the wheels. i know the stock WRX w/ 227 hp gets like 170 to the ground......terrible.
