The car (1994 SC1) was sitting in my parking lot for over 1 year but I was starting it from time to time to keep the battery fresh.

I tried again today and it did not start. The starter is turning (there is spark) but the car won't start. I went and got 2 gal of gas b/c I though
that it is out of gas...but that didn't work.

I am afraid it might be the fuel pump but I am not sure.

Thank you!

i few things may be going on. start by checking all your fuses, then try a jump start. if you take the air filter off you should be able to see fuel shooting out of the injectior on start up. if you don't check for a signal to the injectior with a NOID light and check fuel pressure. also don't rule out the chance of water in your gas. with your better types of fuel pressure gauges, you should be able to pull a fuel sample, in which case you will be able to see the water seperate from the fuel. if you have fuel and spark, check your intake and exhaust, make sure no little mice have made a nest for the winter in your saturn. after that a compression test may be needed.

With the rule of 'replace the cheapest thing first', i would go with some dry gas. I had the same problem with a car my fiance had, after sitting for so long with only 1/4 tank, it built up a ton of water in the fuel, it took awhile but i eventually put enough dry gas in to absorb the water and it ran fine. Also, if it is water in the gas, be prepared for the engine to run like crap if it does finally catch and start, at least for a little while.
