Ok... i have a 97 sc2 that is driven me nuts. I was told it was the fuelpump..... wasnt, put a new one in... got it 2 start, and it runs crazy rpms jumping all over the place slow, fast, dies. Missing like crasy when it starts up.... and when i run it and it gets hot it will not start back.... i hooked it up tested it and it ran about 9 diff codes do you think it could be the Mass-Airflow? the computer? i have no idea where to even start any ideas guys/gals? :banghead:

If you take the car somewhere and get the computer read or even post the codes on here someone that knows them will (or should) be able to tell you what they mean. If it was a bad MAF or O2 sensor, depending on what the bad sensors were telling the computer, the computer might make the car run funny. The computer only knows what the sensors tell it, and if the sensors are sending the wrong info, it'll never run right

How many miles? The ECTS(coolant temp sensor) are known problems for these cars. It will exhibit the symptoms you describe. Replace it with a new brass tip design from saturn. Easy as changing a spark plug. Under $20.00 fix. Saturnparts.com or .net.
High miles and you should replace plugs(ngkplain), wires, fuel filter, PCV vavle (OEM only), and air cleaner. Check the plug wells also. The valve cover gasket leaks and fills the plug holes with oil.

What codes? Welcome to the boards.

the S-seires does not use a MAF sensor, but it does have a MAP. a bad map or a large vacuum leak can cause said problems. if you can list all codes stored i can help you better.
