Hopefully someone can help me with this. Im pulling what little hair i have left out.

2 Questions

1st one. What do the 2 warning lights underneath the emergency brake light mean. One is a box with an arrow pointing down and the other looks to be some type of water temp indicator.(I think). What do these mean and what causes them to come on.

2nd one. Why does my daylight running light indicator flash on the dashboard?

Hopefully someone can help me
Thank you
Eddie

1. your coolant is ether low, the level sensor is bad, or the ECT is bad.

2. are your headlights/DRLs working?

Thank You For Responding

Yeah, The DRL's work.

Is there a way to check the level sensor or ect? or just replace them? Its not low on fluid as far as i can tell.

I get the same two warning lights when I'm driving, but they're usually only on for 30-60 seconds. I tried checking the coolant, but I have plenty of it.

ECT means Engine coolant temperature sensor by the way.

Double check the owners manual for the low coolant light. It means one thing if it blinks and another if it doesn't. Don't remember what tho.

From Wolfman:
"From WIF you have no coolant loss or visable leaks, AND keeping the coolant level at the tank's seam (it does tend to look too full there compared to other cars, but that is the "full cold" mark!) still does not make the light go off..you may just need to clean out the tank. Contrary to a prior post the sensor IS NOT pressure sensitive but is just a "float trip" fluid level switch. Sometimes over the years the float or it's plunger gets gunked up. Cleaning it is realatively easy. Drain just enough coolant to empty the tank and then remove it after removing the 1 bolt, moving the washer fluid tank out of the way and unplugging CAREFULLY the wire to the sensor. Take the whole tank inside and use a good dishwashing liquid and/or Simple Green or Castrol Superclean to wash out the inside. Just fill it up, cover the two exit ports and slosh the cleaner around inside it vigerously and dump it out. Repeat several times followed by a few clean water rinces. You'll be shocked at the crud that comes out of it. You will also hear the float for the sensor rattling around inside when you shake it. Then just take it back out and reinstall it and top the coolant back up and you should be all set."

Thanxs again to the Wolfman from saturnfans.com. :ylsuper:

"NOTE: If the coolant level light is FLASHING in a REGULAR pulsed fashion, it is NOT an indicator of a low coolant level! That is the PCM telling you that either it is getting NO DATA from the ECTS. or (if the car is an automatic) the data from the ECTS compared to the TTS (transaxle temperature sensor) are very off (reading wise) from each other, indicating that ONE of them is giving bad data."
