low oil pressure sensor light

I just bought an 01 police pkg Impala 3.8 from an auction. It has 97k on it and appears to be in really nice shape. Low oil pressure comes up on the message board very intermittently. I checked the oil and it's right on the full line and apparently the oil does not need to be changed any time soon either. I've heard this can possibly be the sensor. Any suggestions would be appreciated..

sounds like the censor to me, unless it comes on when you first start the car.. i can see why the oil pressure would be low then.

ALso, how much did you get it for?

$3600 from the Maine state auction. They had about 9 of them in an assortment of colors. I bought the black one.
