trouble code 26

does any body know what this means i just hooked up a manual fan switch and when i turn it on the check engine light comes at a certain point until i shut it off then it is fine.

long story short the PCM is seeing the fan is on when it thinks the fan should off. what wire did you tap into?

also turn the fan off at speeds above 50 MPH

i used the method i saw on therob.com where you place a wire along with the relay and then run a wire for grounding. why would you have to shut it off going over 55? i only use it when i am idling and it starts to get a little hot. and also while staged at the track. to keep heat down which can be a damn nightmare. thanks

follow this simular method and there should be a less like chance the SES light will come on.

at higher speeds(between 40 and 70, i never remember) having the fan on actually HINDERS airflow across the radiator. even the PCM will disable the fan above a certain speed.
