Hey I just heard of the VK56DE swap. Does it really fit in a Z32, and doesn't it weigh a rather lot? Plus what tranny do you use, certainly not the Titans?!!! I've searched the forums and can't really come up with any info on the engine itself either.

it will fit...i dont know how much modification it will take but im sure it will fit. it isnt that heavy at all...aluminum block V8, shouldnt weigh any more than the iron block VG30DE(TT).

as for the tranny...i dont know. the VG30DETT transmission maybe be able to be bolted to it and hold the power rather well but im sure it will need some kind of custom adapter.

overall, i think it will be a rather difficult swap but if you can do it...it will be well worth. never ending powerband of torque. :D

i personally would look more towards the VH45DE. still very powerful but this swap has been done numerous amounts of times and i know their is a guy that makes a complete kit to do the swap.

Well I wasn't really trying to bring this public but since he's decided he wants to run away, then come back and not face me about it I will.

After trying to BS in that Supercharged cars vs Turbocharged cars bit we got into a while back, I politely asked him for pictures of this 450Z and he sent me that cruddy photochop he put in his sig.

I asked him why he claimed he ran Pro-Mod when he is not in any of the results. Why he isn't listed at an event he said he was at. Why we've never seen any pictures of anything he said he's done. You know, almost as if he made everything up. He spat back some BS and then left. He stayed away from AF for a few weeks then started posting in the Force Induction section again. Hasn't answered any of the PMs I sent and now doesn't accept them at all.

I know what BS smells like and ever since he first showed up Zgringo stank of it.

I didn't know I had to report to you and get your approval, but being you braught it up, below is the the places we were planning on running. We have a new car and it's had some problems and we never got to qualify for any of the ones we went to. Plus do to health reasons my part of LAMP Racing no longer involves me. A few of my close friends are aware of this and I didn't know I had to have your approval or have to answer any of your questions. As for smells, I think it's your underwear.

yeah, i have been suspicious about alot of things that come out of "Al's" mouth. he directed me to a web page about ECU tuning and hooking your ECU directly to a computer program. well i searched around and on that particular forum they were asking him for proof of what he says. its quite ironic...

we recently upgraded the exhaust and the intake piping,added larger oil coolers and remote filter.feverishly finishing up another intake manifold prototype,hood should close,but we have enjoyed displaying the vh with the cut out.we are currently preparing the car for a controlled top speed run,we have high expectations.

Yes I did have a chat to Al on the phone. He is actually a really nice guy. Funny as hell to talk to. Whether he lied about his 300zx or not, he is still a nice guy in my opinion. I chatted to him for about an hour. It was really spun out chatting to someone i knew was on the other side of the world. American accents are so f**king hard to understand over the phone hey...

I know you were talking about him being in the Korean war but he was definately in the Vietnam war. He was conversing (through me) with my dad, who also went to Vietnam and he knew all the right stuff about that. From what i can tell he seems to know his stuff about cars regardless of what he owns or doesnt. I personally dont care what he owns if he keeps dishing out correct information. He had a massive technical argument in forced induction about Nitrous that i found pretty interesting. Dont write Al off completely. Im sure he does know a fair bit about cars regardless of everything else thats been going on.

Actually it cost me nothing. Al called me. And it cost him next to nothing :cool: Its a wonderful thing called skype. It allows you to call someone elses computer for no charge whatsoever. If you had skype installed on your computer i could talk to you right here, right now for nothing. All you need is a microphone and speakers. It rules. You can also call peoples landlines from your computer. This helps when calling overseas like when Al called my phone. I dont have broadband yet so my connection was a litlle too slow to have a decent conversation. Al then called my hom phone from his computer and was paying like 3 cents a minute for an international call. Like i said, awesome :p

I can see what your saying and i agree with you to an extent. When someone is caught out once it detracts from all the correct information that has been given. I dont condone lying and IF Al lied then he probably shouldnt have because he didnt need to to gain respect. Dealing out correct informative info is enough to gain repect around here. Your respect for Al may have dropped a bit but to say you have lost all respect for Al is pretty harsh. Just because he may or may not have these cars doesn't mean all his knowlage should be disregarded. I still consider his knowlage a great resource.

Hey, I've done tonnes of things and I don't have any proof to back them up, but that doesn't mean I didn't do them. If I'm experienced in something, I'm going to give people a hand if they need. He never said he was on any wanted list. He just said that the government didn't take to kindly to his actions, so he moved to mexico. If so, then he could still come to America every now and then and as long as he didn't attract too much attention of the government, I'd say that he'd be quite alright. I'm not going to dig up a thread here but I'm pretty sure we have seen pictures of that twin supercharged car you are building. And saying you are building a unique engine is far from claiming everything he as said he has done. He's spent enough time here and argued all this enough that it's pretty obvious it matters to him. He also states that he doesn't have a digital camera, so if this is the case, then that picture would be the only one he would have of it. I do believe that Zgringo has at least one VH45DE, and that ebay symbol on the bottom left would actually verify his claims on other forums. Now I'm not saying that this is anywhere remotely near proof, but it does indicate that if he is indeed lying about this, then he's been doing it for well over a year, far before all this shit on AF started. Anyway, it would likely be pretty easy to check if he was in 'Flight 207' if you knew where to look. Unfortunately I don't know where to look and I don't really have the motivation either. I'm not his defence lawyer here. :)

Well actually, ihe states that the feds released him and he was advised to leave the country by his attorney. He would be tried for treason if he released any information, which would indicate that as long as he doesn't then he should be alright. Thats how I took it.

I do have an opinion on the matter, but I'm trying to separate it as much as I can from my objective analysis. I feel that someone needs to play the devil's advocate here, and I don't mind doing it. However, don't take that as meaning I'm taking sides. The points I'm raising are more 'what if's than trying to state unfounded opinions.

Personally, I do believe Zgringo, at least to the extent of him owning at least one vh45de powered 300zx. His knowledge of these engines are unmatched on almost all forums on the internet. I've learnt quite a bit from old man Al, and for that I thank him.

As for non z related claims, I couldn't give a flying fuck if he lies about anything in particular because it doesn't affect my life anyway. I'm not going to make any life decisions based solely on what he says so to me, it doesn't really matter if he's lying. He could tell me that he's the Mayor of bumfuck, Egypt if he wanted and it would still be as inconsequential as if he flew in the Korean war or not. All I care about is getting good knowledge on the 300zx, and Al has done that.

not to revive an already beatin subject but i would like to add...

it doesnt take a Z32 owner to see that the engine bays are different. to make life simpler i will post 3 picture. one of a Z32 engine bay, one of a Q45 engine bay, and the picture of "Al's Supercharged VH powered Z32"

He joined AF over a year ago. As stated by K3 he's been doing this on other forums for quite some time and he has fabricated evidence before. So for all his years in the Air Force he is just going to make a profile there and not even bother to post? What's this bullshit about you don't have the motivation. And you are failing terribly. You can't be objective if you aren't going to even try and look at his side critically. And please don't try to say that you aren't on his side because Zgringo has provided enough bullshit for this thread. And your what ifs are pretty far fetched. You're trying to say that years and years of heavily covered professional drag racing has yielded not one damn picture that he could have linked to. There is not one damn picture of anything he has done? No 300 mph stock body ride pictures? No NHRA website with his Z listed? No pictures of anything he didn't for the Air Force or Boeing? No flight roster with him on it? No drag racing pictures? No pictures of him on a beach in Mexico with his "girlfriend"? Thats bullshit.

Here is an interesting point, how many times did he brag about his researching skills? Yeah he knows about Zs and the VH engine. Is that anything that can not be looked up on the internet? I tried to see the other side of the coin (because no one else here is willing to even consider it) but the more i look at it, the less likely it becomes of being legit. Yeah it was a bad choice of words. I didn't mean conclusively prove his story, but its actually something in his favour here. On an unrelated forum he mentions that he bought a vh45de off ebay. no picture is ever posted there of the engine.

To reiterate, if you are posting to prove something, you don't post a picture that could be taken as fake. There is no way a halfway reasonable person is going to look at a picture anyone could get off the internet and accept it as proof of anything. Well the inherent problem with that is that for it to be any kind of a trial the defendant would you know, actually have to be here. Dissect anything enough and you can disprove it, save perhaps gravity though they are working on that too. The point being that with so much against him, the chances of him hitting that small "might have been this way instead" factor for each case becomes extremely small. You don't have to be online all day. If you know how to look for something it only would take a short amount of time to learn a lot about a given engine. Nissan America isn't going to have much on their website but hang around a forum long enough and you will learn a lot of things you would have only learn through experience otherwise. You mentioned yourself how much you learned through this forum. It's not hard to imagine that there is someone out there that actually has a VH45 that Zgringo learned from.

Putting forth a point of view in defense of Zgringo. Better get on a retainer. He said he ran Pro-Mod. He is not listed in any Pro-Mod results. That is not subjective. He put up a picture of his "450Z". It was not a "450Z". That is not subjective. He has said he has done all of these things and can't produce a single shred of anything that could be judged by a rational person to be credible evidence to support any of them.
