I have a 91 sc2 dual overhead cam. My main car is a BMW so I'm a little spoiled on every aspect of a good quality made vehicle. Here's my question....I only drive the Saturn when I don't care what will happen to the car, you know running to the store, driving it when it rains etc....I would like to put a different motor in the Saturn, so that I would feel better about the quality and durability and would probably drive it more than I do know. Does anyone know if this is possible? If so what would be a good one to use?

the only other engine that will swap in is the SOHC version, less power, more economy. you could swap in a newer engine, the 2000+ lower ends are a little stronger, the 2000+ cylinder heads will not work, but they are also a little more resrictive and less powerful then the 91-99 heads.
in your case, a 91-94 head with a 2000+ lower end sounds like a good combo. if you want to do more research i suggest saturnfans.com
