u cant hide a turbo or a s/c. u can hear them both over a mile away. now if u wanna hide some stuff just use nitrous oxide. its cheaper (even with a engine rebuild to handle it) and u can get alot of gain from it too.

lol, ok say i dont go with a turbo or a supercharger and go with nitrous... would the NOS Dual Shot Big Shot be good? lol, its a dual stage kit... you hit the 1st button and you get a 200hp shot then after you are sure you are still in controll and hit the second button the 200hp shot stops and a 400hp shot starts... :) lil bit of over kill bit i think its a nice kit... donno if it works with ls1s tho

SpikeD

WOW ok step away from the nO2!!! if you shoved a 200hp shot directly into your cylinders youd wouldnt be able to find where all your valve springs landed! youd need to stiffen up the engine befor you bring on the gas. i wouldnt go any higher than 100hp shot until you talk to a pro

bull crap, i have a 150 shot first stage wet and a second shot of 100 dry. im thinking about pushing it up to a first stage 200 it was built to handle it. hell with the engine stock it was sucking a 100 shot with just exhaust and cold air before the build. and yes a ls1 can handle that, its not the engine itself its how built the bottom end is, hell really how built the engine itself is to handle it. u gotta remember when using power adders like turbos superchargers, or nitrous u have to have the proper comustion and chamber pressures if u have it figured wrong or mix matched than no doubt u will blow something the hell up as to say. i wouldnt tell anyone to go more than a 75 shot on a stock engine though, but if u are like me then go by the rule of 20.....for every cylender u have u can go 20. so a v6= 120 shot. a 8= 160 shot, just a rule of thumb. for more info just contact me via email or im, ill try an help u out, and as far as the N.O.S. system, thats what i went with and yes it is a great system because its verry upgradeable and it gives u a bit more when it comes to options right out of the box.

i guess... but it would be safer in the lil car then on a bike

you could always get a pedal bike and save even more on gas...

iroc hit it on the head, if u have a engine thats healthy yeah u can hit it with a shot like that, now do remember i did it to my stock engine at 136000 miles but i was a few months away from a re-build so i didnt care if it went boom. now its a bigger shot on a built 3800 so the risk isnt so high. but after u do it u still need to figure out what system u are gonna go with, and how to use it, because u can mess up spraying out of the hole and blow up your engine, or u can be a biatch like me and use a window switch, and let the system do the work 4 u after u arm it. it kinnda insures u will have a car after the race is over.

this kinda ties into the whole factory turbo charged vehicles. Has anyone heard that they are bringing the skyline over to the USA. The main difference is they are bumping it down from 800hp stock to 500hp to make it street legal here. Thats sick.....I dont care if you like jap cars or not. I believe that the price will be around 70000-80000 dollars. So Rally if ever you get the chance to take your car over there make sure its pumpin some major power so you can bag some skylines.

they only make like 280 - 360 hp stock, nothing more, i was looking into importing a 2002 r34 but it would cost like 150 grand and thats money i dont have or would be better spent on a v10 viper with shit loads of mods.

back to topic for a min, i went to pro charger and got them to send me one of those lil packes of info, and in there are 2 ls1 cars, 1 camaro that is "400 cid, 2300+ hp" now this would be awsome in a street car but i dont think he has to pass emissions or anything also he has 12 inch slicks out back... but it does look like it can be driven on the street, everything is there, lights, turnsignals... i cant see the back of it in the pic but it looks complete. and then a firebird it has "383cid, 822 rwhp, pump gas, 26 mpg" im guessing thats highway miles, but either way that is also nice, they might have had engine swaps tho, i dont really know i did send away for info on the ls1, and this is what i got back, most of the info is the same "ours is better then theirs bullshit" but how possible is it to get an ls1 to 400cid, get atleast 1000rwhp, run on pump gas and get 22-24 mpg highway? i still think i rather go with the stealth turbo charger, nitrous sounds nice but it needs to be filled up and in my hands that would be like every 5 hours for a 20lb bottle, lol, superchargers and turbos are nice and the power is on all the time but i think i like the look of the stealth setup.

lol, btw i do relize it will be expensive but all this will take place over a few years, first i gotta get out of school and get the car then im gonna take the slow route and with untill my 2 loans are paid off (1 for school & 1 for car) then i will look into just how much im making and start saving for the stuff.

that would be awsome if they bring it over, i hope they really do, but im telling you those numbers that guy gave you he pulled them out of his ass. maybe he was on shrooms & acid at the time. other wise ppl would be paying the 150 grand (or so (that price includes the car + importing + making it american street legal (so price varies, depending on car)))to import the f-ers... lol 800hp stock is like having 2 mc laren f1 engines in your ride... lol, and then some

I read an article in (either Motor Trend or Automobile, the cover with the Charger R/T and Mustang, remaking Bullitt) about them bringing over the Skyline, it had Infiniti badges on it, twin-turbo inline six thats pumping out 450 hp, no lie. If i can find the article, i'll pots it up. The car has way to much hype if you ask me, it's cool in all, but way too much hype. Everyone knows it's all about these six letters (or eight)
C-A-M-A-R-O (F-I-R-E-B-I-R-D).

lol, i donno about that, but to get it over here they need to add emissins shit to it, + those heave ass front and rear bumpers... in japan the bumpers are flimsy, but they have to have those high impact resistant bumper with the foam shit in them and that add a lil weight so the added weight and the more restrictive emissions shit makes it a worse car here.

BlackGT2000, your right about that one, i think the number was 276 for a real long time, although most of them were capable of more than that.
Rally, are you able to post it, (not like it's really important anyways), 450 is a lot of power, but... it ain't got nothing on the new Z06.

BlackGT2000
07-27-2005, 06:11 PM
Yeah I knew we had a ton of safety parts that would have to be added, I dont even think they are required to use safety glass. Thats how their cars are so light over there. Its definately a fact that some of those japanese cars are capable of far higher horsepower than 300, but I think Link is correct, I was sure I heard something under 300 as being their limit over there.

That would be my doing sorry. But hey horsepower is horsepower. What people do to their cars when they get them and put all that gay stuff on them is a different thing. I just think its interesting what a turbo does to those things.

But back to the topic. Prochargers seem to be the way to go as far as simple bolt up power. They seem to be very efficient in making ample power. A turbo would just be friggin sweet, but I wouldnt mind a procharger either. But the cost just gets crazy. I want to know what these guy do to their engines to get 23-26 mpg and come out with around 400hp. I read an article about a guy building a 383 with a tpi setup in an iroc. Real nice motor. Got 26 mpg! Is that what dyno tuning does for you? Maybe thats the secret. I love power but I cant build a motor that will give me crap for gas mileage. 16-17 mpg is bad enough for me................................................ .................................................. ...................................
....................i want a turbo.......

92zcamaroperson

hey that BBS turbo kit.....the single turbo. Does it only use one side of the motor. In other words just 4 cylinders? and then the other side exits freely?
