S Series paint problem

Hello all

I have a 96 SW2. The exterior paint is in very good condition for the age, and all the plastic panels are fine. The only problem I have is on the bumper cover around the Saturn emblem and the side marker lights, the paint is bubbling and peeling. It has only gotten worse since I bought the car in Febuary. It is not too unsightly from a distance because there is another layer of the same color (silver) paint underneath. Is this because the bumper has been badly repainted or is there a problem with the factory paint?

Also, fog lights. I was looking for used ones on car-parts.com, but I can't figure out which ones I need. Do I need:
"Fog/Driving, (bumper mtd), Cpe, round Right"
or
"Fog/Driving, (bumper mtd), Sdn Right"
What do Cpe and Sdn mean? I have round holes in my bumper.

a factory defect would have shown up YEARS ago. you said you bought it used. are you even sure that it is the orginal bumper? other times, paint will naturally bubble with age and heat.

in other words, i have no clue why your paint is bubbling.

Cpe stands for Coupe, Sdn stands for Sedan, if anything, the Sedan lamp should fit perfictly.

I'm not sure about the bumper. I have seen some indication that this car may have been in a very minor front end accident. One of the headlamps is a little askew. It almost looks like it went through a barb wire or some other type of fence.

Thanks for clarification on the lamps. If my car did not come from the factory w/ foglamps, do I really need to do all the wiring involved in making them stock. Like this guy did:

I don't think I care all that much about having the relay to turn them off when I have my high beams on. Because why would anyone see me with my high beams on while driving? I can just use a radio shack switch next to my 2 other ones (both for blue LEDs in my modified speaker grills.)

the stock wiring may or maynot be there, only way to know is to check yourself.

you should use a relay one way or the other, the switch will have a hard time with the load. the reason the stock system turns off the fogs with the highs on is mainly for legal reasons i beleave(many areas only allow four lights on at one time, and with flash-to-pass the lows and highs can be on together, add fogs and thats 6)

The paint on my rear bumper has been peeling off at the car wash and when driving on the highway. It is small but noticable as the light grayish plastic contrasts with the dark green paint. The parts are small, so a touch-up hides it from a distance.
