'90 Sable temperature gauge

All my gauges work except temperature gauge and neither of the Sable specific repair manuals I have address this gauge/problem. Any suggestions? Fuses are OK. Is there a sending unit I can check? HELP!!

Start by checking the sending unit.
Use a wiring diagram to isolate and test other components that may be connected to it.
