I know that there were some camaros with 3.4L engines, but what would my impala sound like with an exaust on it?
My friend has a honda with a V6, and it sounds like a POS import, but i want my impala to sound like the v6 camaros.. is it possible?
Also, which muffler would give me the best sound?

i put a flowmaster 50 series on my 3.4L, not a cat-back, just a muffler and tips....it sounds good, a nice deep agressive tone, but that lawnmower import sound.

oops, my bad....NOT like a lawnmower tone...lawnmower meaning those imports...the flowmaster sounds good on my impala....i think u'll be happy w/ it...much less expensive than a cat-back system, but still worthwhile, both sound and performance-wise...

Did all you do is cut off the old muffler, and clamp the new one on? Or did you change other things?
Thanks.

i sawzalled the old one off, had to slightly rebend the inlet pipe a bit....then welded the new one on...the flowmaster didn't come w/ hangers, I had to cut the old ones off and reweld them onto the flowmaster...u can, however, buy clamps and hangers and do it that way, less expensive, but also less reliable...though u can always weld it later...btw, u'll need to get 2 exhaust tips....the 50 series (which is what i recommend) is 1 inlet and 2 out the back...

cool thanks!!
Is there any way you can like record the sound of it?
I dont think my dad will let me put a muffler on the car unless he knows what it will sound like.
Thanks

i can't think of any way to record it b/c I dont' have any kind of equipment, but i'll see what i can do w/ my wife's digi camera...the best way i can describe it is as a low, deep hum at idle and a nice little growl at low RPM....when u get on the throttle hard it sounds about the same, just a little louder and meaner...i'd say it sounds like the stock pontiac grand prix dual systems...that hollow sorta growl...it's not loud and it doesn't sound like those grapefruit shooter style civics that are all over the road...it sounds american, that's for sure...the 50 series is a nice fit, it sounds good but is NOT offensive...i'll see what i can do as far as recording a few second video clip on the household digi cam...standby, i'll get back to u on that...
