Looks great man! I also made my V5 into a 2 door. Color looks great. As others have said tho... the b pillar is too far back, and there isnt enough 1/4 window there. Other than that... great work! Cant wait to see it finished.

Great conversion, nice job. I wish someone would bring out a Mark5 GTI kit so I could make a replica of my car.

I managed to do some work on this after a few months in the closet.

This is the start of the door panels, i used f430 door panels as they look similar to that of a GTI. Door handles were taken from parts box, and some styrene was also used. Still far from done, but some progress.

I plan on building a VR6 and a 1.8T engine fully detailed. I will resin cast them as i plan on putting them in many builds. The R32 isn't going to have a motor though. This is just the start so bare with me.

The indent for the spare wheel had to be cut out do to the muffler. Some styrene and putty was used. Muffler was taken from a 350z. Still in progress, but this is what it looks like so far.

Well this is what it looks like at the moment. The ride height is finally done, just dry fitted. Wheels might be painted, not sure yet. The reason why i put it away was because i wasn't pleased with the rear windows. They aren't accurate. Too small and the c pillars are too big. Its already painted so no going back. I think once done it won't look too bad. I need some encouragement guys. Here are some pics.

Nice progress!!! I will follow up your thread. IMO Although the rear window seem not like the actual car but it's your model. If you think it's ok , nobody will stop you. Feel free because it's yours , just a model.

Crap,if you didin't mention it,I wouldn't recognize it...

I actually think it looks better this way. Just make the front lower...Or at least in the same height of the rear! :p J/k

Wow i remember this build, coming along nicely i love the paint, once its done it wont matter much bout the rear windows, and who says you can never build another one again right? esp if your makin engines.

Good luck cant wait to see this finished!

No worries man. Ive gone thru 2 of these kits already till I got mine just the way I wanted it. Stripped the paint and did it all over again on one car. I say keep going and finish it up. Looks great as it is.

And if your gonna get some 1.8t engines made up.... Im #1 on the list to get one!!

I see what you mean about the B and C pillars but I think it looks great anyway. I think your build is about the transformation of the existing car, and the accurate portrayal of the details that make it an R32...which you're executing very well ;)

Little progress, i plan on working on it more this week and hopefullt finishing it. The taillights were smoked, but seems like they didn't come out too dark. The sunlight made the taillights come out not really smoked.

Well i finally got some work done after a long break. Owning a house really takes most of your time away. I've been eager to finish something up, so i didn't start anything new as i have close to 12 wips on my bench right now.

I really thought this one was never going to be finished as i disliked the pillars and a few other things on it. But it is the closest one to being finished so i took it out of the box.

Interior is almost done. Used detail master shift knob, scratch built the roll cage from styrene rods, added seat belts (2mm ribbon) and a mixture of flocking.

Chassis with new exhaust, first time i used kosutte ginsan and have to say its a great product.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y49/midmazar/Scale%20Model%20Cars/Volkswagen%20MkIV%20R32/IMG_0278.jpg

The trim was painted model master flat black laquer from ab.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y49/midmazar/Scale%20Model%20Cars/Volkswagen%20MkIV%20R32/IMG_0274.jpg

And a quick mockup with interior, i was thinking of cutting the side windows to better expose the interior. What do you guys think?

That golf is looking great!

About the window...what about just cutting the one on the driver side?

It is good you are getting back into this one. I think it would look cool with the drivers side window halfway down, like it is sought of open

Just found this wip for the first time. Amazing body work and the colour is out of the world. Interior work is also well done and a joy to look at, amazing skills you have.

I'm a fan of the opened windows, and a nice interior work definitely deserves it.

I vote for the opened windows.

Looks great. I really like that color on a MK4. My vote is to open the windows so you can show off that amazing interior.

Very nice work, it's hard to believe you made so many mods looking at how the final result looks perfect.
Really nice R32, I think I would go for open windows. ;)

Got some better pics and got some more progress.

I went for a Blistein suspension look, still a little touchups.

Fujimi BBS LMs painted alclad aluminum and added bbs decals with a drop of krystal clear to make them look like the center badges.
