Trans or TC?

Hey guys, in my '01 windstar the tranmssion slips sometime when making a hard left turn.. It just winds up to 3k, slam into go mode, and then rips both tires loose... MY little brother and I have narrowed it down to a failing transmisison or CV joint..... It also "bucks" sometimes under what I call "pussyfootin"... IE light throttle acceleration...

I don't think your CV is a player here. Classic CV joint problems are a "clicking/clacking" sound when cornering. I don't think there is any way the CV joint can slip, unless it fails completely. As to the slipping, simple question: you have assured the fluid level is up? I had an old Chrysler that would let me know when the fluid was low by doing exactly what you are experiencing.

That was the first thing I checked, It's clean and full... It doesn't do it all the time, and only when there is a hard bind on the axles... IE left hand turn, and hard throttle, IE pulling into traffic....
