how do you reset ECU?

i was jsut wondering on how you reset the ECU? do you just unhook the negative terminal on your battery?

yup thats what i do take off the neg battery cable for like 20sec-1 min works fine. i also think you can pull a fuse under your hood might be the hazard flasher fuse not 100% sure though

Pull the ECU fuse under the hood instead of disconnecting the battery, the hazard fuse just clears the ECU codes, do that after you fix you problem.

i disconnect neg term, then pull ecu fuse.. put fuse back in after a min and reconnect neg term

the hazard fuse is in the fuse box under the hood,should be the one closest to the fender, the 10amp one.

What you should do is get your car to normal operating temp. then pull the ecu fuse(so you dont lose your radio stations) for like a minute or two. and then start your car without touching the gas pedal, just turn the key, and let it idle for like 4-5 min. shut it off and turn it on again and your ecu is reprogramed to give you the best mileage. you should also do this anytime you add anything like I.H.E. etc...
