Anyone changed the sending unit on a 96 Saturn Sc1? I know you have to drop the tank as it is mounted on the fuel pump and this can be quite time consuming. My question is, Can you access the unit by cutting an access hole below the back seat? Any ideas? Thanks TP

i suggest you drop the tank, some manufactiors design a access panel in the floor board, how ever saturn did not. i don't know what type of clearance there is there, but i can imagen its much, plus there is a chance you may weaken the unibody.

Has anyone replaced the sending unit with an aftermarket like the gm one JC Whitney sells? The Saturn unit is 126 bucks.

Have you tried SaturnParts.com or SaturnParts.net? I always call my dealer or stop by and then get the part# from them. Then look them up on those sites. Sometimes one sites is less than the other. I have also advised my Saturn dealer what I can get it for shipped and see if they will match it. Otherwise I just order it and wait.
