So how do they put a car tire on the rim? is it like putting a bike tire on the rim? Impalaguy you say you work at a shop can you tell me how it's done? The only thing they do is put the tire on the rim and pump it full of air then balance em right?

you use a machine, it puts the tire on for you.

i was just curious if there was another way. I know some off-roaders put the tire on the rim spray the inside with a flammable liquid light it and the tire beads itself on the rim.

That's not necessary on a car. They do that because the oversized tires are hard to get on the bead. Using an air compressor usually results in the air leaking out before it builds enough pressure to seat the tire. Most shops have something that will shoot a blast of air around the bead, into the tire causing it to expand rapidly (basically done the same thing as using something flammable.)
A car tire will usually go on the bead by just using an air compressor. If not, you can push down on them while rolling them, which will partially seat the bead and allow you to then use the air compressor.

what im getting at is would it be possible for me to attach my own tire to my rim? I have a set of 2 goodyear tires that i wanted to put on some spare steels i have and i don't want to pay for it. I was going to have them balanced but i wanted to put them on the rim myself
