Yeah the 06 GTO is looking gooooooood. I remember hearing that the GTO is only to be here for 3 years. So it'll be only here for next year if it IS true, which would be kinda cool if they dropped it for the Maro to be back.

I wonder if they wil still call the F bodies if they are made on a beta platform......

They pretty much have to, don't they?? it would be stupid not to, not like there's anything else called that.

well, the F-body was a chassis design, the unibody design with a front subframe. The beta is a completely different chassis design, so it wouldnt be an F-body.

Well I guess that is true. But it IS just a name. It has no real signifigance right?

its the official designation of that chassis design. kinda like saying camaro is just a name, you could use it on a minivan right? ;)

Good point.
Will the beta have IRS?

A minivan can be a Camaro if it has 400 HP going to the rear wheels.

As long as it LOOKS LIKE A CAMARO and it's retro, I won't really mind. Besides, IRS helps in the curves right?

Im fired from what? But honestly, I hope that if it has the Maro name it doesnt have an IRS because its suppost to be faster going straight not turning

Yeah, that's true.
Maybe they'll work out a way for IRS to have better power handling abilities.

Well thats why we have a Vette.

That's exactly where i;m going with this. Vette but cheaper and with camaro styling, lol.
But in all honesty, I'd rather have a 1/4 mile beast than a road hugger.

personally i preferr the solid rear axle over an IRS. the IRS is known for ride quality, but not its power handling. the solid rear axle is better for high power, and can be made to handle curves as well or better than IRS setup's. see, www.hotrodstohell.com for a general idea of someone whos done that.

Well welcome to the AF. But the thing is that its only speculations, it may BE true but its still just a maybe.

It looks like a (badly) photoshopped Chrysler Firepower mixed with the rear quarters of the Magnum sedan and a bad rendition of what looks vaugly like a 1st gen Camaro nose. The car itsself looks to be an obvious two seater, which a Camaro should not be. In fact, if the '5th gen' Camaro took the route that the Stratus R/T coupe did; basing the dimensions and interior on a sedan rather than a coupe; and building a (good looking; no DCX-type stuff) coupe around that; I'd put money on a success.
