Its not that they lack VSS... VSS just means Vehicle Speed Sensor... All cars have them... The problem is that the newer cars (well, donw know about ALL cars, but Hondas) come with electronic, and our cars use mechanical VSS's to work...
That said, from my understanding, any electronic D or B VSS is interchangable... As for which vehciles have electronic vs mechanical, I have no idea without researching it... But my guess is, if the tranny is cable, its mechanical, if its hydro, its probably electronic... But this is only a guess...
I myself want to do a 00 Si cluster swap into my CRX Si... But yea, as u said, they are expensive!

just get an electronic VSS from a 92+ dseries engine. itll bolt right in. then wire up the wires from it to the cluster of your choice. theres FAQs around telling you which wires go where on particular clusters.

wow thanks dude for the quick tutorial :icon16: but neways u did answer my question about the VSS being interchangeable for my little d-series tranny :grinyes:
Thanks incucivic for ur reply..i know theres 3 outputs of the VSS ground-power-source and the source gets split to the ecu and cluster, so now i just gotta find a connector that will prolly end up being a bitch to find. thanks fellas
