He didnt power brake, because if im not mistaken he has a 6 speed, and that means he has a line lock.

*dances around* That's the way an LS1 is supposed to be baby!!!! Volume isn't everything, he's got the right tone dialed the heck IN!

i would guess that guy has a line lock. i know manuals pretty much need them, but are they worth the $130 if you wanna BS a bit in an A4? i remember reading somewhere that the ABS gets screwed with if you hold the brake and throttle and it kills engine power briefly.
Mr. Luos

SLP's linelock doesn't interfere with the ABS at all.
I got a really good price on it through a friend, and I was going to be running DR's at the track, so I did it. Cool mod for burnout contests.
I rarely use it. Track, and for video shots.
Oh, and BTW...thanks for the compliments. It is actually a little loud for me right now, but I think I have the sound figured out.
Getting the 402 here soon, with 1 7/8" stainless Kooks longtubes, gutted cats, and true 3" duals. Magnaflow mufflers. Should sound badass once that is all done as well.

Well like I said, It's not about volume, and honestly it was a little loud. It's all about the tone baby, that subtle rumble and the slight bumpy sound. It almost wants me to go fully N/A on my 'Maro. Which I might do.
Again, great car, really nice. You ever sell her, lemme know. Just curious, she got a name?

And also, I'll want advice how you got that killer sound. is it all exhaust or do some of your engine mods help it out?

what exactly is a line lock. and why is that supposed to mean you cant power brake. i have a 6 speed and i can power brake like a mother f* **er?

a line lock is a little add on box that SLP and others make. You push your brakes to the desired pressure, hit the button and let off. The line lock then keep that presure on the front brakes, but releses the rears so you can feel free to light 'em up all you want. Hurst also makes them, calls it Roll Control.

The cam gives it the lumpy sound. Called lope most of the time.
Doesn't help that the cars exhaust was dumped right after the y-pipe.
I am changing a bunch on it, so right now it is open headers. Loud, annoying. Tearing it apart next Sunday, getting it ready for the swap.

I'm looking at a '94 Z28, anyone know if you can get good tones fairly easy?

FYI. If you have skills with driving a stick, you can do power brake burnouts in a 5 or 6 speed.
1- hold brake with heel of left foot.
2- hold clutch with toes of left foot, at same time. 3- rev to 2500-3000rpm with right foot.
4- slide left toes off clutch, sliding left foot over to brake pedal.
5- smash gas.
6- hold brake just enough to stop car, do not hold it to the floor (unless u want to buy new brake pads).
7- do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around... that's what its all about!
also you can burn rubber from a rolling start, bringing the car to a stop as you continue to burn rubber. my best friend and I have given this the title "walking the dog" (like the yo-yo trick) or "the roadrunner."
1-in first gear, rolling start at 10-20mph.
2- smash gas.
3- 1/2 second later smash brake pedal.
4- hold.
5- get jiggy with it!

Yes.
And I have video of me powerbraking the Trans Am as well. You can kinda tell when that is done, the car hops forward a little. I will see if I can post that here in a while as well.

Yes, the a "powerbrake" as everyone knows it is when you hold down the brake, and nail the gas. I never really thought of doing that for powerbraking a manual transmission car. Wouldnt you have to dump the clutch, tho, unless you have clown feet?

Basicly, you have to dance.
If you have a decent sized foot, you can kinda get both pedals, as you can see with my clip, you will more than likely still go forward some.
It is really hard on a clutch, and the rear brakes with a manual car.
I run DR's at the track, even though I haven't gotten to use them for a good launch yet, and the linelock seemed the best thing to help save the clutch. Which turns out is toast anyways....but that is another story.

LT1 sounds better then the LS1 by what, a little, or a whole bunch?? I know as a rule the V-8s sound good, but I never would have thought to find one better sounding then the LS1 besides the 572 chevy.
