1996 Ford Windstar alternator/electrical issues.

Vehicle, Ford (Junkstar) alias Windstar. No sooner did I get the Clock spring repaired, the alternator would not charge the battery. I checked the fuse that controls the internal alternator/regulator and found it to be good. Then I removed the alternator to have it tested by my local Auto Zone which conclude that the alternator was not the problem. What should I look for next? Thanks in advance.

Try charging the battery with a charger.....leave it on "trickle" charge overnight.
If you have the original battery....it is time to replace it.
You most likely have already done it....but check, clean all connections. Especially the main battery terminal connections.

Battery is brand new, but I will chek the cables.

I troubleshot the whole charging system with switch on and off. voltages were what the manual I used called for. Cables were clean and tight. I'm thinking that the new alternator I got from Auto Zone is bad. Has anyone had problems with AZ's electrical parts?
