Low 13s for an Evo, I don't see it as too far fetched. Maybe he's a good driver?

Just like how you're able to get low low 14s in your Mustang GT.

And, his car might be a factory freak with a bit more power. That does happen.

GTech times are pretty accurate. And like I said, I voted before I saw his post. My bad, whoops... oops. Big deal, but my times aren't far fetched. The car would run those times. Considering the road I was testing on was a back country road and dusty, it was crap for traction the 60ft times of 2.2 were evident of that. 2000LS1Z28 weighs a good 170-180lbs? And that was first day I drove my car in 2 months. And it was measured at 13.4 @ 106mph.

On a track, it probably of done better. Who knows? All signs point to it being capable of faster.

If I had said 12's, I can see you reason to bitch at me.

Fair enough?

Okay..I can kind of understand the Gtech thing..but this dude never even ran his car and he claims low 13s. Now if he woulda been like 'low 14s'..which is actually what I see some stock evos running. I wouldn't have said shit. But since he's putting himself in a much faster league with nothing to back it up other than a bunch of websites saying stock evos run 13.6s..I can't help but say shit about it.

To add to what RedNeck said:

It is our jobs as moderators to enforce the rules of AF. We are not here to enforce rules that people make up for a thread. So, we aren't going to go after people for breaking the rules of the thread. However, we will go after people for breaking the rules of AF, which you're doing.

Nobody says you have to believe them, but constantly making posts like that isn't appropriate.

In all fairness, remove that evo guys vote and I'll settle down. It's not fair to the people for him to be able to lie like that. Also, Z28Josh..I find it weird that you'd post for a car that you don't even have when the point is to post times for your own car..reasoning?

i've raced one Evolution at the track. With my current setup in the reply i posted earlier in this thread. It ran 13.5 w/ 1.8 60ft...I have no idea what was done to it. Pretty sure it was stock, i got to look under the hood of it after our race didn't see anything aftermarket on it. Maybe he could just drive i don't know. Anyway, ain't no stock Evo gonna be running low 13's. no way. well not here anyway heh.

He chose the 11 second car cause he worked on it, and drove it.

The Z28 in his family, his dad built. But he drives it from time to time. When it was built up, it ran mid 12s I believe.

Maybe he felt more connection to the car he built up with his classmates/friends and drove. Rather than the car his dad built and he got to drive on the weekends?

Plus it's the faster car...

Wow, after having heard his life story I now feel closer to him. Still though. Stock evos don't run low 13s.

After i ran my 15.2 last year, i parked my car and walked up to a guy who had an Evo because it was a sweet car. I asked him what he ran and he said the best he could manage was a 14.6 LOL. I'm sure any one of us could manage better than that, but maybe Evos arent the easiest cars to run, and maybe low 13's is a bad estimate.

Low 13s isn't farfetched for a stock evo? Posting times for a car you don't even own isn't stupid? Posting times made on a Gtech when the thread specifically states no gtech times isn't also stupid? I'm sorry I have an opinion. :disappoin

I agree man.

I dont think the mods need to moderate as per your rules OBVIOUSLY.
But they should respect that you SPECIFICALLY wanted track times not estimations or gtech'd times.

I dont get it either...

To get back on the subject my 2000 cavalier ran a 16.3. I have header, downpipe, highflow cat, full exhuast, WAI,Plug wires, and plugs. Ordered upper and lower motor mounts and getting ready to get a TB. Im hopeing to get to mid 15's. Its not fast but it is a fun car to play with.

Have you ever built a race car? An actual race car? I spent countless hours every day, and sometimes i would come in and work on it by myself just to get it ready for the track, my friend and i had to have the engine completely tested in every way possible and rebuilt in a matter of 2 months. I put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into that car. So when i say it's mine, yes it is, and it's my friends, and everyone else who built it, from the guys who did the electrical work to the guys who did the chassiss and suspension work, it's all of ours, we built an 11 second 1980 Chevy Malibu on a very limited budget with limited tools and we made it safe, reliable, and look good, it's the first car i ever drove that could pull both front wheels off the ground. Dont tell me that car isn't mine. In fact I'd even wager a guess you've never even pulled an engine or rebuilt one ever in your life have you? I'm done, i dont feel i need to explain myself any further.

of course not. at the shop i worked at, i just stood around and looked pretty while everyone else got their hands dirty. i've worked on 10 second street LS1s..you don't see me trying to post up times for that, do you? i gave a guy at the track a hand on his rail car when he didn't have anyone around to help him. still though..you don't see me talking about how fast my 10 second camaros and 8 second rail cars are. the point is just because you built it doesn't mean it's yours. if everyone had that mentality..every shop would go under. when you see a car everyday in your shop...work on it..bleed on it..sweat on it..and ultimately be happy on (in) it..you can't tell the owner that he can't have it back because you're too emotionally attached and then start acting like it's your car. i've drove faster cars down the 1320 than my own..but you don't see me bragging with a checking account i can't write checks from..now do you?

Is it to late to wager? If not, I wager $1000 that dampy has pulled/rebuilt a motor. Oh what's that? He did!? Yay, I win $1000.

Since this is the Street Racing section I posted what I drive on the street since the 79 Mustang I have is built for Drag Racing and never driven on the street but will post the times anyhow.

Street Car: (And the vote I cast in the poll)
1994 Chrysler LHS
3.5L (215 CID) 24 Valve V6
214 HP @ 5800 RPM
221 Ft-lbs @ 2800 RPM
Vehicle weight 3636 lbs (Actual gross combined front and rear axle weights of the vehicle fully loaded with passengers and cargo as measured at the factory and is supplied on the VIN sticker on the Drivers side Door, weight stated above is minus the 1015 lbs passenger and cargo weight figure.)

60 Foot: 2.403
1/8 Mile ET: 10.669
1/8 Mile MPH: 63.09
1/4 Mile ET: 16.871
1/4 Mile MPH: 81.35

Run was the best of 3 passes made just this past Sunday (05/22) against a friends 2003 Pontiac Bonneville (3800 V6 205 HP) during Grudge Runs at the local Drag Strip. And yes I beat him 2 of the 3 times, the 1 loss was because of a foul start but the slips all show I was quicker than the Bonnie each time :)

Yes it's slow but hey it's a family car, not a street bruiser!

Race Car:
1979 Ford Mustang
351 Windsor V8 bored +.030
Unknown HP and Torque numbers, car has never been dyno'ed.
Vehicle weight: 2520 lbs (Full of fluids without driver, weighed on a State Certified Platform Scale)

60 Foot: 1.549
1/8 Mile ET: 7.369
1/8 Mile MPH: 90.732
1/4 Mile ET: 11.849
1/4 Mile MPH: 113.340

Times listed above are best times in their respective categories and are not made on the same runs or at the same track for that matter, just merely the best record times and speeds the car has ever obtained during 5 seasons of racing it.

It wasn't done in a service shop, it was done with my classmates. Believe what you want, i'm done with any thread you make or post in from now on. You're a condescending asshole and you deserve no respect, even if i didn't feel that car was mine i still would have posted it because i have no respect for you or anything you say. It's people like you that made me leave this site for a year and it looks like i'll be doing it again. PM me if you wish to continue this but i probably wont respond to you anymore.

The times I posted are based on general estimates. Why? Because this is the street racing forum, not the 1/4 mile drag strip forum. So *ptthbt*.

Despite the few modifications the mustang has, I would estimate it at its stock time. Ran it at a track last year with my buddies cobra. He beat me and he does a 13.5. I can only estimate because nobody got time slips that day, I did however get my money back. I was right on his bumper so I would say mid to low 14
