whistle noise

I have a '98 Windstar with 41k and had a clicking type noise from the rear. I found that the rear drum pads were down to metal. I replaced all the rear brake parts. The clicking sound is gone but I can hear a whistle noise when I drive through a tunnel or when the sounds reflects off another car. If I hit the brakes, the noise goes away. I am thinking that its the hub / bearings. Any other ideas? Should I wait for it to get worst so I can find it?

hello takwong,
my opinion is,
Try, to stop the car with your the hand brake only, from about 40mph. If that works OK, try it from about 60. If something fails, we'll help you, if things work out OK, your brakes are fine. If you pursue curing your whistle beyond this test, YOU MUST post back to us to tell us how you fixed it.
