warped dashboard cover

Hi all. A friend has a 2000 mystique and the front edge of the dashboard cover where it meets the defroster vent is curled back all the way across the dash so that the edge of it is pointing straight up. Also the defroster vent cover is disconnected from the dash and is just sitting there loose. Has anyone had this problem, what causes it and can it be fixed without replacing the dash. Thanks in advance for any help.

there was a recall on this.

Does this mean that the dealer has to fix it for free? The car is 6 years old. Where do I find a copy of the recall.

my 2000 mystique has the same problem and I called my dealer who says that they do not not know of any recall . What is the word on the street.??

i posted the same issue in ford contour forum here... there's the link just above... it wasn't exactly a recall, i forgot what they called it, but it's in the other forum... it was an issue they had with late 99 and 2000 mystiques and i believe contours too.
