so, i keep changing my mind about a turbo

I change my mind every hour. i swear. I go from "Man!! that dyno printout is AWESOME!!!" to "wow, looks like theirs a lot of upkeep, and i dont have time like that"..
i just cant decide. this hour of the night, im thinking "well, maybe i can just do bolt on stuff.. all engine work. No turbos tho.
What do my options become? i mean, my throttle body (already bored) could be bored some more (which ill probably do tuesday when my intake comes).. and mentioned, intake arriving tuesday.. 2.5inch muffler.. Other then that, im clueless as what else i can bolt on. Would it be worth it to get a SW2 engine at a junk yard or something? i have no clue on costs of stuff like that. would they take my engine as a trade in?
so basically, the purpose of my post, bolt on wise, what else can i do. what else can i bore, what else can i .... ect ect ect.. I mean, maybe a turbo will come, but it would always be in my best intrest to build up the engine before turboing it in the first place.

N/A is the way(or at least the way I'm going)
i was playing around with numbers in my head one day and think 200 HP N/A from the DOHC is possible but would take massive amounts of work and countless hours dyno tuning. if after my build i get 125-130 to the wheels i will be very happy.
remember the combustion process has five main elements: Air, Fuel, Spark, Exhaust, Compression
air and exhaust are the big ones for basics. from front to back the compounts are: induction, filter, tubing, throttle body, intake manifold, cylinder head, valve, combustion chamber, valve, cylinder head, exhaust manifold/header, downpipe, cat., resonatior, tubing, muffler, tailpipe.
fuel - the stock injectiors have proven themselfs to work well even with mild and high performance engines. fuel pressure and fuel control also need little work on preformance engines. however, fuel quality can not be overlooked even for a sunday driver.
spark - making sure the ignition system is in good shape and you are not limited by bad parts is really all a N/A engine needs unless you are making alot of power.
compression - this really can not be affected by bolt-ons, however, with good volumetric efficiency you can jam more stuff in so it might as well be high compression IMHO, but thats going back into air and exhaust.
talking about volumetric efficiency, you might wanta read this thread(mysat, you too). Tycho really knows his stuff, not to many people know about reflected pulses in an engine-

is the dohc a direct bolt on? i mean, swapping motors is a huge project. and with my motor, the sohc, it was driven and owned by senior's.. so it was babbied like crazy til i got it, and iv only put 10 k on it. so its a good motor still, i hate to part with it.
How much HP does the dohc have?
i know the soch has 100

DOHC is 124, I was going to swap
You can change out just the head and a few other parts, and it doesn't have to come from a SW, the SC and SL also fit, they're the same motor,
the 96 DOHC will fit on a 97 SOHC you will need the manifolds, wiring harness, PCM, powersteering pump(i think), if you have an auto transmission the trans will need swaped. if you have a 5-speed its not needed, but the gear ratios will better fit the torque curve, plus i may be in need of a SOHC manual trans soon(or parts of it), but if you can, swap the whole motor not just the head.
not just the '96 will fit, and since you're in an auto. you will need a DOHC tranny, switch to a manual too if possible,
My problem with pulling the whole motor was transportation of the motor and an engine hoist,
Actually while reading over the removal procedures of both, it seemed easier to pull the whole motor, but neither one seemed too hard,
IMO, well worth the swap, if I have the chance I'll still go do it,
You can keep your engine and tranny, it was just a thought I threw out there. Im still in the SOHC with a manual, its quick enough for me, I've put mods on it, they're in my sig.

the main goal for me is : Be fast enough to beat ricey honda's, integra's, tayota's and the other standard 4 cyl stuff. I like the feeling when they think to themself's " wow, i just got molested by a wagon" and so far, only a civic has felt that.
My friend has a stock 92 accord, the faster model they made, and he beats me every time thru second gear. during first gear, i jump, getting maybe a car length ahead, after 40 MPH he walks me pretty good, and im not sure why. except the obvious fact he must just have more HP. but i am going to be painting a house soon, and im thinkin theres $300-$400 right there, i was doing to finish my cosmetic work (Gauges, neons, more striping, lowering springs) but if i can find a better reason to spend it on mechanical i will.

The DOHC with a manual tranny is MUCH better for racing and such, it pulls all the way through to redline,
The SOHC only really pulls till around (2700 is what I've been told) 4K from experience

i did notice after i took off the resonator and bored a bit after 3k rpm it goes to redline a lot faster.. but second gear has always been slow.. thats always where i lose

Your in an auto though, go from first to drive if you lose in 2nd,
I never really race in an auto, less control over shifts,

yea, i dont like auto's either. I mean, if you floor it from a stop, it redlines first, hell, i redline first almost everywhere i go. but in second, once it shifts from first, its at like 2krpm, then its always slow building up to 66mph (where it shifts to third).. it seems every 33mph is a gear shift.. first ends at 33, second at 66, and 3rd at 99.. now, at 45mph, if i drop down into second, its at 3krpm, which, when i floor it it jumps.. all of my friends and me call it "twerk"... what i'll do is i'll floor it til about 2 feet infront of them, then drop into second, once i drop by the time the gears shift im neck and neck with them. they always say how it looks cool. lol. we're going to film some videos this week, so im sure ill post the videos online.. anyways, besides the point.. i didnt know if there was anything i could do to make 2nd faster

If there was a power programmer for the saturns (I dont think that there is one) then I'd reccommend that, it'd fix that right up, and shift firmness, but check around you might find something I've missed

my friend said something about a "plug and play" kit.. now, this friend is known to have tall tales if ya know what i mean, hes a BS'er.. He said around $200. And i asked another friend who knows a lot about cars, and he said the typically gain 10-20% HP.. which, in my case.. is about 10-20HP.. Ever heard of those?
