Ok so what would those questions be?

does the d16a6 head bolt right on to the d15b2 block... and would there have to be timing and other things involved

Yes it will fit, but IMO a waist of time. If anything find you a Z6 or Y8 head to bolt on it. Kris has a Z6 motor for sale in the classifieds. Ask him how much he will let you get the head for.

whats wrong with an a6 head?
i say go for the a6 head, they make decent power and are good for boost too. and yes it will bolt up, but you may have to get a d16a6 timing belt and some other goodies. and get a z6 head gasket, they are much better than the stock composite gaskets.

Well ig hes going through the trouble of a head swap why not something that will give him a noticeable power gain?

I agree with Doug... Whats the point? If your gonna do it, atleast swap in the whole engine... That way u get the low end torque too... 100@5000 ft lbs compared to the 89@4500 in the B2... A simple head swap wouldnt be worth it IMO... Plus I think they are essentially the same head... Its just the DPFI vs the MPFI which are where the A6 is better...

I think the only real difference it the cam. The A6 has a slightly more agressive cam. I would just put the cam in instead of replacing the whole head.

But even just the cam, I dont think would see much of a difference in power... And most definately wouldnt see any without a MPFI swap... I just think a MPFI swap would be the best thing to do to that engine, other than just swapping it out for something else....

the only thing i have is the head... i dont have the whole motor.. the head was given to me.. so ur saying that the mpfi swap has equal amount of power to a whole a6 head swap??

MPFI and a Z6/Y8 head will put you about 135 I guess.

Well no probably not, as Doug said, the cam in the A6 is probably more agressive, but with the MPFI which is more efficeint, youll notice that more than if u swap in just the head... Did u get the intake manifold, ECU, resistor box, injectors and the TB with the head? If u did, then yea go for it... But if its just the head, then I honestly wouldnt even bother...

Then go for it... Dont forget to get a new head gasket and head studs (reccomended)... And a timing belt (not sure which one on that combo, but my best guess is the CRX DX since the heads are the same, but Im not sure) and water pump (CRX DX)... From there once u have the new head on, just follow the write ups people have for doing an MPFI swap... And you should be good to go...

yea ok but which head gasket should i use the si or dx or maybe something better..and what kind of head studs? im guessing si.

Im honestly not sure... I think either will work for the head gasket, and studs would probably be from the DX since they screw into the block... But again, Im not too sure... This isnt really a too documented swap... Atleast I havnt seen anything on it...

do i really need a new water pump?? and head studs?? i kno im gonna replace the head gasket and timing belt... help

They say its best to replace the water pump any time u change the timing belt, more of 'while your in there' kind of thing... As for head studs, Im not really sure if its required... I have been reading a bit, and read that u could just swap out the cam intself and it would be the same thing (as we said earlier the cams are the only difference), this would mean u wouldnt need studs or a head gasket... Might be a cheaper way to go about doing it...

o ok thats what i was thinkin too... i was thinking what if i just replace the cam since that is the only difference but i wasnt too sure but hey thanx for the advice

yah, DONT waste ur time swapping the head for hte a6 one. It's identical to your stock one except for the cam. Just switch the cam. But, you'd make more power by switching to mpfi than switching the cam.

yea thats what im doing an mpfi swap and then the cam swap... im not really good at internal things any clue how to swap out the cam?? is there gonna be timing involved??
