i don't think dropping the manifold would warp it like that...

i normally dont get involved in peoples disputes on here, but i have to this time.

some things glare at me as being BS. the first one is the manifold. theres only two, and i repeat, two things that can warp steel like that, and both of them require heat. the first way is if the engine overheats, in which case, the aluminum head would be in way worse condition. the second, which i think is the case, is that the flange warped when the runners were welded to it. the whole reason those cuts are in the flange are to compensate for the metal expansion that occurs when the welding heats the steel. obviously the fabricator rushed a bit when assembling, and then didnt mill the flange surface flat afterwards. and any good manifold maker would have done that. this isnt dougs fault, it happens. but he should at least acknowledge that the manifold he sold just happened to be warped, even if he didnt know it at the time of the sale.

the next thing is the buildup in the turbo. it could be overlooked, but i know that every part ive purchased for my car has been inspected as soon as purchased. when doug purchased it new and unused, he would have noticed that it was in fact clean and free of buildup. if he used it after that is up for debate, but the fact remains that amis friend received a used turbo.

another thing is the damaged studs. if none of these parts were used, then none of the threads on the studs should be crossthreaded. yeah, maybe the tip of a stud can get a little screwed up from handling, but that stud is obviously crossthreaded all the way down the threads, due to someone forcing a nut onto it.

the last thing is the turbo not bolting up to the manifold. no one is saying that doug should have sat their mocking up the turbo on his car so he could dream about what it would be like, but i guarantee that anyone who buys parts for an engine will at least inspect every part and in the case of something like a turbo and manifold, bolt them together to ensure a true fit and a good seal.

you guys need to settle it, and figure out a middle ground.

doug, you are a true idiot for not noticing all the shit wrong with your "kit". its people like you that make everyone else scared to buy stuff off others on the internet. Man up and give the dude some $$$ back, then you can go sell your shit manifold on ebay like im sure you will do.

havent I been saying this all along?
i swear noone reads before they post! so this is pointless what i'm doing

also, like i stated BEFORE, the "cuts" in the manifold are actually separate pieces. thats a multi piece log manifold. u can buy the log sections and make your own if you wish, which is what i'll be doing. it consists of 2 90 degree bends, and 2 "T" sections

UNRESOLVED

my last offer of being reasonable:

$100 refund so my friend can take it down to be fixed...my friend has been waiting months to put the turbo in. he has everything complete to put in except for doug's fouled up parts.

Seems to me that LadyNRed is out of control. The fact of the matter is, if she or her "friend" REALLY wanted quality parts, than she or he would've bought them from a store that gives a warranty or money-back guarantee. I guess that since she made the mistake of buying it from someone slanging their parts over an auto forum leaves her S.O.L. And to doug294, I would just take the money and run. If you know for fact that the parts weren't damaged before you sent them to her than that's all you should care about. I wouldn't give a second thought to any of the venom that comes out of her mouth. Anyone that's ever posted regularly on this sight knows that Ami can't EVER let anything go, and obviously lives through her computer. The sad thing is that I'll bet the only REAL friends she makes are the ones she finds on this forum, who live miles and miles away. (Well, i guess except for her poor "friend" that got "ripped off" ) For God's sake, Ami, and for everyone else's sake for that matter, get the hell off the computer and get yourself a life. Do something constructive with your time and get a job or whatever. Either way, just by looking at your past threads, which usually seem to be 5 or more pages long, it looks like you really crave the attention of other and have to drag certain issues into the ground until there's nothing left to piss and moan about ( but i'm sure that soon after there's some other big drama that you seem to get into so you can rant and rave just a little bit more and maybe someone might listen to you....) LOOK....YOU GOT SCREWED. DEAL WITH IT. IF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE REAL PROOF THEN TAKE HIM TO COURT. IF NOT, DROP IT ALREADY.

I'm also on AMIs side, there is nothing worse than when some jerk scam you cause he wants quick money, happend to me before ex friend did me a favour like I did to him lots of time but in that case he fucked me up cause he wanted to earn some money beside and I got the engine for 600$ that was broken and ready for junk yard...
So I know that feeling ... I'm still pissed of about that but one day it'll all come back and someone won't be so happy about it....
So I say keep it up, until you get your refound or he pay for getting that mani in a shape that it should be !

Boy, how childish can you be. I may have gotten into it with Ami a few times, but I still don't wish her or any of her friends to get scammed on parts. Even if Doug didn't know the parts were damaged before he sold them, he still should man up and make it right by either replacing or repairing the parts. It's good business and it's the right thing to do.

people are soooo stupid.... think they can't be tracked. then they register with 1 post and say stupid thing like that.

maybe if doug would have bought "quality parts to begin with," he wouldn't be screwing people. do you think before you speak? obviously you crave attention and don't have freinds or you wouldn't have made a FAKE NAME TO TALK SHIT BEHIND. you are a looser. you're telling me i need a job or a hobby? take a look in the mirror.

i don't have to hide or make fake names to try and talk shit about somebody. i don't have to hide behind my PC screen. i'm not some "anonymous" ass running at the mouth.

w00t! thanks for registering just for me...i feel so special. now say good-bye to your abuse of AF. registering to flame is against the rules....so is re-registering after you've been banned. you don't seem too bright so let me clue you into something: when you're banned all mods know about it and are looking for the re-register

yup, i got screwed. he picked the wrong person, i won't just deal with it. dougs own post describes a "new turbo" and his pics are the same parts as in my pics...except my pics show how the parts aren't as described. everybody who has replied except you (geee, i wonder why) can see it plain as day.

IF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE REAL PROOF THEN TAKE HIM TO COURT.
and thanks, when it comes down to it i'll be sure to tell doug i took his buddy's advice

I dont even think its a laughing matter when getting screwed. Im beginning to think I was screwed out of my swap I got. Put in over 4K$ to get it done, and im still paying for it because 2 days after I got the car, the tranny went kaput. Found out today the tranny was pretty bad, and it looked like it had been that way for a while. Not to mention the so called...new exede stage 1 clutch I got is already 50% used. Now when I try to get in touch with the guy no one hears from him, so im still ass end out, at least the engine is fine, but now nearly 2K$ later and a trany thats costing me more than I need right now. Id say im pretty mad too and finally get to vent about it.

Sorry your friend got screwed, Im beginning to know the feeling.

my most recent 'getting screwed event' was when i ordered white-face gauges from some guy that promised high quality one of a kind gauges. oh they were one of a kind alright. he printed them off his damn computer, then laminated them--with bits of fuzz and hair stuck to it. i told him about it, and he offered me a new set! i asked him if he was going to give me the exact same product and he said yes. why in flying f*ck would i want another set of fuzzy computer paper faces! anyway, i lost out on only $25 but let's face it: $25 or whatever, it still sucks big time getting screwed. it's hard to trust people nowadays.

sorry to hear about your ordeal ladynredsi.

Ami,

Havn't been on to check everything cause I have been out of town working at the new house. I got the response from the manifold guy and he said that it wasn't covered under the warranty cause it is only covered for the original buyer. Anyways, how about I send $75 back to him. All I can do right now. If that is fine let me know.

that sounds like it's my only option. really what it means is now i have to make it up to him with free labor. i just want to get this over with and on with my life.

still no apology was made, was offered less than what was acceptable, and i still feel my friend was screwed. go back and read his replies. look at the pics. make your own decision.

i still say...BUYER BEWARE OF doug294!!!
