I am having a problem with my Impala brakes locking up. When in traffic for 5 to 10 minutes originally, the brakes would engage like the parking brake was stuck. The parking brake was relesed. Dealer says cannot duplicate the problem. We are now having the problem more frequently. They are telling me that the entire system needs replacing to the tune of $3000 which includes new calipers hoses etc....this due to contamination in the fluid. This is non warranty. Not sure how to take....anyone else having similar problems with their impala?

Hi Mike,
I got a 2003, rear brake right side locked. I pulled the wheel and rotor, found out the parking brake is a separate system. Part of teh parking brake shoe let go and jammed the sheel. How do i remove the old shoe.....if you can tell me??? I tried to pull it off, but all I can see is I have to remove the rear bearing as well to get it off?? Any sugestions please?? You can email me at [email protected] Thanks
