Car lerching forward during startup.

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if anyone could give some clues as to what is going on here. When the car is cold and has been sitting for a couple of hours or overnight, while I start it, she lerches forward just a real little bit. I never noticed it on a warm startup.

Any ideas?

Thanks

When cold try starting the car in neutral and see if it still happens. Check the tranmission fluid level. For some reason your transmission is engaging when it should be in a neutral position (a neutral position is park or neutral). If it works okay in neutral, I would look at the shift linkage to make sure it is adjusted properly.

there isn't anything wrong with your car - we get this complaint about 10 time a month at the dealer I work at - on cold start the engine races higher faster than warm start and the rocking of the powertrain causes the movement - you will also notice a difference parkng on inclines both up and down causing different powertrain loading while parked
