Help With Instrument Cluster

Howdy all!
First time i have posted here so be nice! ;)
Seriously, I just bought a 96 Windstar GL Conversion that was very well kept and runs great! Very happy with it (so far)! I plan on doing some rather massive modifications to the interior of the vehicle (Gull Wing Side dorr anyone?) and have some plans for the instrument panel as well.
Basically, Like most Windstars, it has all the analog gauges and idiot lights that the others do. I plan on replacing all of it with a custom, computer controlled instrument cluster of my own design. My wants are greater than my knowledge however... see I want these idiot lights to be gauges as well - oil pressure, washer fluid level, charging voltage, etc.
Does anyone out there know what sensors I need to replace (if any) on the engine/transmission (part numbers would be nice) to turn these into gauges?
Thanks in advance for you help!

Thanx I-m tech
Actually, I am not using digital gauges. I whille be replacing the dash instruments with 2 - 7" LCD monitors that will be driven by a computer. This will allow complete customization of the look/feel of the dash by simply relocating the different objects... each "object" being one gauge - speedometer, fuel gauge, etc.
I know a LOT about computers - hardware and software - so this is not intimidating to me. What I lack the knowledge of is what sensors I need to collect the reading from the engine, fuel tank, etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks again!
