Well after reseting the codes from before the famous 171 174.Which may have been a pcv valve vacuum leak.Or a tsb issue thats been slowed down a little because of my early inspection a little while back.
Yesterday my wife said the lights on again. Well I just knew that i was going to pull a 171/174 out of the obdII. But with my reader in hand 181 Fuel temp sensor A circuit range/performance. HMMMMMMMMMM I search here and see others with that problem but no resolve.Could it be a Ford Joke or some type of FBI cover up. Is the CIA involved some how.
I did notice after clearing the code it ran smooth again. Not that is was not before just notice a little differance. So my investigation goes on too find this little EFT sensor in the Ford Haynes manuel, that being only clue
the book tells you about it. After that I guess the Editors or the Some government shut haynes down on any more info given about this little sensor. If any one out there knows anything about this little sensor and what may be the issue here please forward. If not I guess we will have to wait 35 yrs for the freedom of information act to release any info on it.LOL Just kidding. I just like handeling one problem at a time but this Windstar is what they call a multi--taskerrrrrrr. :banghead:
Thanks, GARY..

Just love a good conspiracy theory...................

My guess is that in 35 years they will claim it never existed or that it was a weather ballon.

This will not be too much help but I think the code you got means that the expected static value is suspect. Often this is wiring or the sensor itself. I don't think this is due to a problem upstream that causes this sensor to read a strange value but rather that it reads a strange value all by itself.

I told you it wouldn't be too much help but I wanted to offer what I could.

UPDATE!!
I took the van today to Autozone and let them pull the codes even though i have a code scanner.. With the engine off the pulled them.
They got the 171 and 174.. I asked did the engine need to be on and he said no.. I went back home and pulled them with the engine off this time and got 171 and 181 and a few codes that are I think mis reads backwards numbers. So i think my scanner does not read well on some fords it does chevy"s fine. But any way. I know what i need to do. Tsb..

Do you mean the infamous Isolator bolt fix???

BTW what type of code reader do you have?

Yes got that code earlier found a vacuum leak from the pcv valve and that solved it for a few months. then the light came back on and got the 181 but now i know it most likely the isolator bolts. So I will go ahead with that fix. i got the info and all. Gary
