94 sc2 throttle position sensor switch

Here's my original problem....

I have a 94 sc2 with 177,000 miles on it occasionally it will not idle and run with a slight miss, after it does this and you shut it down a few times then it starts to idle fast. I read that a plugged fuel filter might cause this and changed it but the problem returned. The service engine light is on, can you jump the pins with a paperclip and get the codes on this particular vehicle? Is there a sensor or something that might be causing this? Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction...

I replaced the ECT haven't drove the car yet but am getting throttle switch shortage code...seems like this might cause symptoms listed above...where is this switch located and is it hard to change?

mounted on the back side of the throttle body, you might be able to reach it but chances are the throttle body is gonna come off, if so then the gasket should also be replaced. and grab a can of carb and choke cleaner while you are out buying parts.

Yes you can jumper the top right terminal and the one directly to the left of it, on the ALDL, Assembly Line Data Link (next to the hood release)

The check engine light will flash
It will show a code 12 three times before and once after stored codes are shown, to show the system is working properly,
If there are no codes are stored, it will continue to flash code 12 till the jumper is removed.

Ex.
for a code of 23.
code 12 three times
It will flash twice (2), pause, then flash three times (3).
It will repeat the code three times, then show any other stored codes,
then code 12 once again

Do no try to start the car with the jumper in place.
