Hub or Strut????

my right front wheel makes this horrible noise, which is louder on turns. my daughter's subaru did a similar thing and it turned out she had a stripped hub assembly. how can i tell if it is a busted strut or if it's the hub?

if its the strut, chances are it will make nosie going over bumbs. chances are its a bad wheel bearing(mounted to the hub) it should get louder on left turns and go away on right turns.

Would it also make a similar noise at higher speeds (40mph+)?

I had a noise up until I smacked a Michigan Pothole about a month ago...now it makes different noises but thats a different story.
