They are actually going to make one for us Acura/Honda Owners!! Cool thing is, STS is just up in Orem about 10 mins away. I just may have to swing up there and check on when this product is going to come out for my Civ. L8...

haha, yes those are for real. very cool. very stealthy. If I had an f-body I'd be buying that. They make a turbo kit for mustangs that somehow hides in the side scoops! :-o

OMG, i wanted to call bs the whole time i was reading but it made sence. Wouldn't there be tremendous turbo lag from all that pipeing? Thats huge gains too with 7 psi. I'm guessing its a rather large turbo?

Its true lol, do they make any dual kits for the LS1? Twin turbo camaro would be fun.

Wow such a simple change in thinking makes such a major difference...I can't believe in all the years of turbocharging nobody ever thought, or sold the idea of putting a turbo in the back...Imagine a dual exhaust V6 with a twin turbo at the back of the car... say something like a G35?

Stealthy ? have you heard the system?
it replaces your exhaust note with spool. not that thats a bad thing, becuase it sounds cool as hell, but its far from stealthy.

If ya'll have seen the vid of the TA totally owning the Supra that totally owned the Cobra, this is what it had in it...Its mad. The Supra walked away from the Cobra going 160 (meaning the SUpra was doing myabe 170-180), and it just gets walked hard by the TA.

That's nice and all, but somehow I doubt it would be safe to use that thing as a daily driver. It can easily see that system getting completely fucked up if you bottom out.

Just make sure it's installed higher than your gas tank, so if you botton out the whole thing will just blowup.
All joking aside it's a great setup and if any of you are serious about a custom install I'll give you Rick Squires (STS Turbo) personal phone number.
We (Zgringo) LAMP LLC are getting involved with them. Wish I could tell you more, but then I'd have to kill ya!!!!j/k

Pshh, REPOST. I saw this system a little over a year ago, and got some turbohead's opinions. Still a really cool/stealthy setup, and you could probably hustle a good bit of money off of someone, but it looks like a good bit of heat (what spins a turbo) is lost by mounting it there, which I guess is the payoff for a cool mounting location.

My :2cents:

My whole concern is the location would mean the turbo is in serious risk of getting submerged in a puddle or getting full of sludge and road debris. what if you gotta go through a strip of unpaved road? or drive in the snow?

In the article it explains how they were spraying methanol into the intake, so not all of those gains were from the turbo system.

the methanol is to keep the system from leaning out, in stead of replacing the fuel injection system

Turbo an LS1......

Stick with a single T88.
Twin turbos are more work for the same power.

That's all great and all, but I seriously see no significant advantage over the typical turbo setup. Any advantages this system provides are negated, IMO, by the new disadvantages they provide. Yeah it is innovative, but better than a traditional setup?...I wouldn't go that far.

No the water/alky injection works better than IC's and with the longer boost tubes to help cool the turbo's pressurized air, you end up with a much cooler air ingested into the engine. Cooler air=more power.
If you read the engineers report from the turbo mfg's about Rick Squires (STS Turbo) Proving beyond any doubt that it's the exhaust pressure and not the heat differential that drives the turbo's, plus you get cooler oil from the engine to lube the turbo's bearings.
For those with concerns, don't buy it. Don't buy racing cams eather, if you overrev your engine you might blow it. The same negitive stuff was said about us Z owners mounting our air filters in front of the radiator down low. We would ingest water, be in harms way, and just not a good idea. Well I've been doing it for years and guess what? None of the concerns have ever happened. Could they? I'm sure they could if I chose to desert race or wanted to smash snow drifts, but I have more respect for my car and try to avoid these things.

The Trans Am in that video.....
My cam used to be in that car. Back when it was Vortech S/C'd. Well, he changed quite a bit, and I ended up buying the cam off him.

Right now, that Trans Am runs a single T80 turbo, and 13.5 PSI. It makes 725 RWHP and over 775 ft/pounds of torque. It BLEW AWAY that Supra.

No doubt about that. I love that Trans Am. Both my dad and I watched it a while ago. Sometimes he just asks me to watch the video. He usually watches it about 3 or 4 times in a row, just admiring it. Thanks for the specs on it Luos. We've always been curious to know where it stood. L8...

It was.

But the owner of the Supra said that there is no way in hell even he was running as perfect as possible that he could take the Trans Am.
As far as I know, the Trans Am is 85% tuned as well. The motor can take much more than the 13.5 PSI that T80 is giving it. BTW, it is a TTi set-up.
I think his goal this summer is 800 RWHP.
Oh, and the owners of both those cars are friends.
