vin plate decoding needed

im wondering if anyone knows how to decode the body vin tag so i can find out what my car had in it in 64. i already looked on year one and had no luck. im going to be doing alot of work soon and i would like to know what options im soposed to have. thanks

write the vin down and go to the dealership, they'll know everything with the vin.

Very cool information and I wasn't even the one looking for it. Do parts of these VIN Codes apply for modern cars as well? VIN might actually have a meaning to me other than a lot of freakin numbers and letters :D
