i read an article in car and driver yesterday, and have checked out honda's website. as far as i know all civics (besides the si) will have 140 hp and about 120 ft lb of torque. The Si, according to the article, will have 197 hp, and weigh 2900 lbs. (?!?) Erm...doesn't sound too impressive.

well, technically the car has 210HP, and 138lb/ft, there is a new method of calculating HP ratings that just went into effect, and i believe the civic is the first car to implement it. the civic si has the K20Z3 or something like that while all other civic's besides the hybrid will run an R18 motor.

I believe the Si also comes with a 6 speed manaul and an Limited Slip Diff...at least thats what the Honda site pumping the new civic said.

^^Yup all 2 liter 200 hp to both front wheels with a 6 speed.

I also read that this engine is putting out the most HP per Liter in the world? Isnt the S2000 pushing more ??

The Civic Si produces 197 horsepower at 7800 rpm, up from 160 horsepower at 6500 rpm and torque increases from 132 lb-ft. at 5000 rpm to 139 lb-ft. at 6200 rpm. At nearly 100 horsepower per liter, it has one of the highest specific outputs of any production engine in the world.
