looking for a hole in firewall/run guage!

Anybody ever found a hole in the firewall to access a mechanical
water temp guage.???? 2001 model.....

If it's the type with a large sensor on the end then you don't have much choice other than drilling a new hole. Usually most existing grommets are packed tight.
Go to Autozone and pick up the right size of grommet and then very carefully measure and check both sides of the firewall before you drill the hole, making sure nothing is in the way.
Then when it's all done, add a bit of silicone to seal it.

Yes,, thats correct,however I was trying to avoid drilling,,,
you did confirm not much choice,, I'll be careful and
find a spot to drill.. thanks...

If you you look under the brake pedel there is a cable running through for the hood release you may be able to snake it through there with a little work. Hope this helps. Gary
