stuttering with code 0352

just did a major tuneup for too much money (I was stuck out of town) due to stuttering, loss of power, etc. '99 Windstar, about 80k miles, 3.8. Thought it was the tranny at first, but the shop said no, it's ignition problems. They pulled code 0352.
After the tuneup, it's running better, but still stuttering, though not as bad as before. It's still throwing the same code. Any ideas as to what else I should check?

Code P0352 - Ignition coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction. You will have to test further from there, Could be coil, wires, power to coil etc. I would start by checking these 1st for any problems. Also are there any recent aftermarket add ons like remote start, could cause interference.

Also on '99's and '00's .... make sure your power train harness isn't rubbed "raw" against the ac tubing on the firewall. You'll have to remove plastic cowling to inspect.

Thanks for the input. i'll be checking all those things. I also have some troubleshooting info from the Ford service disks to check voltages and impedances at the coil.

How difficult is the cowling to get off? I haven't tried that yet.

The second time you take the cowling off there will be "nothing to it".

But the first time.....

The wiper arms are the biggest learning experience if you've never done them.

12Ounce, finally got around to this, and sure enough, found the harness, melted tape, and melted jackets on a couple of the wires. I'm going to test drive it now, but I'm pretty sure this is the issue. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for posting back. You are the first (on the internet) to ever report back to me that their harness was damaged. I've been a "broken record" on the subject.

.... And I hope the repair takes care of your problem.

(See everyone, ... the ole man wasn't JUST bonkers! He is bonkers and has other problems as well .... )

Get in line, I owe him one first.

after a few days of test driving, it looks like it's a fix. If it comes back again, I'll be back here.

thanks again, all.
