Seafoam use?

I thinking about running a can of Seafoam through my Windstar's engine to clean it out. For good distribution, the PVC vacuum line looks like a great place to introduce the Seafoam . Has anyone here ever used Seafoam?

I've seen a lot of good reviews on it, and our vans are probably a good candidate to try it on. You'll probably need someone in the driver's seat to keep it from stalling as you pour it in the PVC line. Good luck and post back your results.

There was a poster on the old Cartrackers.com Windstar forum named Wrestler who swore by yearly Seafom treatments. He did use the nipple on the upper intake where the PCV valve vacuum line attaches as the point at which to pour in the Seafoam. He would pour in about 2/3rds of the can fairly quickly until the engine stalled and then pour in the rest. Only drawback I heard of was that some plugs occasionally got fouled from the gunk blowing through the engine.
Last I heard, he had >225,000 miles on his 96 Winny with a 3.8L.

On my '96, 3.8L, I found that introducing the SeaFoam at the PCV point of the upper intake manifold caused a lot of the SeaFoam to run out the throttle body, into the flexible hose. In my case......I removed the flexible hose and cleaned things up after that.........
I used the spray version.
I have also removed the brake booster hose......and with a thumb quickly over it.....and the little red straw for the end of the spray can into the end of the hose.....with my thumb sealing the rest.....worked fine. If you don't have your thumb over the end of the brake booster hose,,,,too much air....and the motor will quit.
