Over the weekend i went to a volkswagon meet and while i was there i had a friend snap some pics of my car what do u guys think? Im still waiting for my spotlight :/ its on back order or some sh!t. But i had a blast at the meet to bad there arent any impala meets.

In this last pic, after the meet, im in the far left lane doin like 39 in a 55 or maybe a 65 the mercedes wouldn't pass me at all lol I thought it was funny they took that pic.

not bad. I wish mine was white. I guess I could go out and try to use my cheap webcam, but I have a push bumper, rims, caps, tint and all my emergency flashing lights. but Im still waiting to figure out what to do to take off my spolier.

i ordered a push bumper then canceled it cause no cops around my area use em. But to take the spoiler off just use dental floss back and forth until ur able to cut through that sticky foam shit. Check the third pick down, those small antennas are screwed into where the spoiler was. I didnt fill the other two holes in but you really cant tell.

Whoa... just Whoa... I kinda like the look of the Black car with the spoiler... Then again to pull off the 'legit' Cop feel it would be better without... but from the side or front... no one would want to look twice ;)

i love black but the spoiler(even though it looks cool) needs to go. U should put some tire shine on those tires make em stand out even more.

yeah ive tried to take the damn spoiler off a few times. I even tried using floss but the shit keeps breaking, I even tried what the service manual says and cant get the fucker off. its really starting to piss me off.

well I got a digital camera today, and a few days ago I finally got the spoiler off. so tomorrow when its light out ill try to take some new pics, maybe ill even get some with the lights on.

I'm sorry, but what the hell is wrong with you guys? You need to get respect by pretending to be a cop? Pretty sad, man. What, did you fail out of the police academy? Or not qualify to even try? I guess there will always be those that try to get respect some way other than earning it.

The only respect recieved is that of average joe who doesn't know better. Fully attempting to be a cop when you are not is a jail-able offense. I don't think most buy police packaged cars just for a fake level of respect, we just like the cars themselves. I drive it just like any other vehicle, it is amusing the reactions you can get with the car, but that is just a vehicle perk. Ask any crown victoria driver.

Trunk Lid mounted lights. I think they only left them because they are rivited into place.

[edit] Future plans... Center Console, Tint, Reconnecting some of the light functions.

Would like to add all 3 attena's back and a pushbar. By that point, the car will have nearly all the equipment it did when it was a full-bore Police car. Just need deck lights and a cage.

Well i just like the look of the 9c1 honestly. The fact that people are scared shitless is a bonus. I plan on going to the academy after i finish up with college. But man o man i can't help it with those little ricers.

I fully understand buying the vehicle because you like it, and if it happens to be an ex-police car and a good bargain, that's even better. They do have the "cast iron" engines (3.8). I was referring to the last post by Pat OD when he said that his car "demands respect" where he lives.

I have a dark blue Impala, and yes, sometimes, I'm sure that people who don't look carefully move out of my way because they may think it is an unmarked. But I don't go trying to intimidate anyone. Pat just gave that impression. Hence my post.

well recently some jackass in maryland has been using a black impala to pull people over and issue em tickets :/ what kind of a life does that guy have. It could even escalate to rape which is unfortunate. Those are the people u need to worry about not me. I mean look at my car i have pinstripes a magnetic CB antenna and regular plates.

sweet as hell but what kinda license plate border is that? Please, please tell me it isn't barbed wire :( My gf has barbed wire on her license plate looks gay as hell. The Impala on the rear window adds a nice touch, i'd put it on mine but it would tarnish the image :/

Chain Link, I wish I could get some pics of the black one up here! I have a spike frame on the front of that one. Too many people bumping my front end and leaving marks from their lic plate bolts. I've even ripped my own pants walking to close! You can find them at auto zone for about$12 and they're heavy. Never Thought I would be into replacing the headlight bulbs... but I bought Silverstar bulbs for my low beams... at first I wasn't sure if I liked them but I'm getting used to them now... and also carbon fiber wipers

how did you get a hold of the rims? my newer car has the 5 spoke alloys like the old ss. and I finally got rid of those tigerpaw uniroyals... Yuck!! only 17k miles and all chewed up. I found out with the last car that the BF Goodrich Touring holds up really well. You can't really see the lic plate in the pic but I transferred it to the new car as well... MPALAGRL lol. Trying to decide if I want to keep it or not. Too many weirdos out there thinks it's great to follow me and my Boyfriend finds it embarassing to drive on the rare occasions that he does... haha.

Some people buy them off ebay, My car came with them (as well as whatever tires the PD seems to use, they are hardly worn after 15k miles of use)... There are even some tire/wheel shops that have the black steelies... the centercaps are whats hard to find.

For you guys that have the tint, how much did it set you back? Also I can't get the front tinted like that... state laws have something against it... I guess. Stupid Michigan.

wow a lot of things to add my 2 cents to. ummm, first, some people like to look of cop cars, and so make theres to look like it, just like wanna be racing ricers, like to think there starring in fast and furious and spend all this money on body kits and parts. its just what one persons idea of what looks god as opposed to another. and some need them for work, such as a first responder or fire fighter. and as far as pulling people over, (impersonating a police officer) felony, not a fine and a year in jail, felony, have fun in prision. and yes people have tried it, im in wisconsin and a while back a guy did do just that with a vic, pulled women over and raped them, got dubbed the blue light rapist, since he had blue lights, which are for police vehicles only. and as far as the tint MCO you can call your state patrol office and ask them, they will always know and thats state wide. but I believe mine was about $220, its 35% all the way around. by wisconsin state laws, I can have 35% everywhere except the driver and passenger side windows which can only be 50%, which basically looks like dirty windows. but if you call state patrol, they'll tell you whats legal. ill get my new pics up in a few minutes. the lower the percent the darker the tint, its the percent of light that can show thru, not how dark it is.

well im in south eastern WI, probably not close to you in MI. and I would like to get a spotlight but I know its going to be kinda expensive for the whole process. for the soptlight and mounting bracket then to have the body shop I go to put it in. but as far as the tail light covers, they are held on by a double stick tape, the thick foam like shit, not clip on or anything. but ebay usually has them. or you can also find on ebay and websites is a vinyl sticker. they give you one for the center since its flat and fairly easy to put on but they give you 2 sets for the tail lights since there rounded are are harder, they know your going to fuck em up. but places around me that do tint also put on vinyl stickers and if you buy the stickers you could take them to someone to put on for you. I guess you could also have a sticker place make the stickers for you, but me personally, id rather already have a known to fit pre-cut sticker instead of some new guy making up a design to fit.

how did you get a hold of the rims? Well my car came with the steels and as for the centercaps E-Bay is your best bet thats where i got mine, however if its 9c1 or a 9c3 you have to drill into the rim to get the cetner caps to hold.

For you guys that have the tint, how much did it set you back? Also I can't get the front tinted like that... state laws have something against it... I guess. Stupid Michigan.

Well i live in Maryland and the legal tint limit is 35%, However most newer vehicles have all their windows tinted like 95% or 90% from factory you just cant tell. The only problem there is that when you get 35% tint from a shop it's really like 30% so when the cop(depending on if the cop's near you are dicks) puts that sample paper to the window he might have you remove it. Happened to this guy i knew, he was an asshole anyway. As for having you front windows tinted, other than factory, i'm almost positive that it is illegal in all 50 states. My was done at a local shop and they did a great job on it. I paid $170 and got 10%, it's cool cause most cops in my county have better things to do than issue citations for window tinting.

now theres a question in itself...well, I do a lot off different work that I need the lights for. volunteer firefighter, help my friend with small construction/mansonry work, I help people with flat tires, no gas, that kind of thing. I do also have a some ...umm, unoffical police business I am called to help with on occasion. my best friends dad is a detective and when things get tight, we help with undercover/surveillance work for cases hes on.

and your right about the tint, if you do get pulled over and they actually take the time to test the tint, it always ends up darker than what you got it at. and im not sure if the amount choices you have (5,20,35,50) are just abouts or if the cops just dont know how to calibrate the fucking things. but i know of two incidents taht have had that result. 20% was tested at 16% and 35% was tested at 26%. they didnt wipe off the windows or anything. but I used to have 20% on an old car, and I got some shit for it, but now with 35 on I dont have any trouble.

I'll get some nice pics of my imapala, its just the stock 2002 model, im not going to trick anything out with it, it looks nice the way it is, and its goin to stay like that, the basic sliver model and all, its really a great looking car in retrospec, Plus i think the car looks better with a spoiler

I just took some pics of my Black Impala The other day... now, just have to use the rest of the film:) Those tail light covers ARE awesome... but I know I cheaper way to get that look and get ANY color you want... I Created the same effect using Avery Vinyl.. Takes some time though :) If anyone is interested in what their tint laws are for the state. Check out www.LLumar.com that is the tint we use at the tint shop I work at and they list state laws on their web site. Also costs about $225 for entire tint on Impala except windshield, w/one piece back window and lifetime warranty. www.tintcondition.net

And I hope you don't think that I fit into this fast and furious category. in case you do, I'll mention that Headlights and wipers are a necessity to a vehicle. Impala's sit way too low in the first place to put a body kit on, haha. I can't tell you how many times I hear that plastic piece scrape on the way into a driveway. I can't say that they don't look nice but I have better things to spend $800+ on. Also, A lot of people try to mock the look of my car. So I would have to say that there are at least 5 imitators around my area that I've heard about. and I have this urge to be different.

And for the People who want to make their cars look like cop cars, WHY NOT!?!?! There is absolutely nothing wrong with driving around looking like a cop car unless you're being an idiot and pulling people over with it. as a matter of fact.... I was told by a police officer in my area (NY) that it is perfectly legal to have a light bar on top of your car as long as you don't turn it on while on the road. BUT, I would do some serious research before installing one :)

It serves a few purposes, pushing snow, letting you know your about to smack your transaxle with a rock... help you know when you pulled to close to a curb/concrete step... Damn sturdy piece if you ask me, i've slammed it a few times, its still there. It may help with downforce slightly, but I would doubt it.

I think that a previous owner had the spoilet added, the car seems like a pretty baseline model, im not sure exactly, i think so though, but it is the original spoiler, not after market.
