Have a 95 Roadmaster wagon with LT1 engine (like caprice LT1). After 187,000 with original alternator I have decided to have new bearings and brushes installed before it lets go.
Located tensioner, not quite sure how to "grab it" and release tension on serpentine belt. Not the easiest spot to get to.
Anyone out there have any tips?
Thanks
Tom C.

Got it. Actually it was a 1/2 inch bolt on the tensioner. Quite a few layers had to come off to get to it.

Sorry, Tom...
I wanted to say to grab that bolt, but I wasn't exactly sure if they (tensioners) were the same on LT1. I didn't want you to break something because of me.... Glad you figured it out though!

Hi
Am trying to replace the serpentine belt on my 95 Caprice wagon. Have got the alternator belt off - no problem. Have got the other belt off EXCEPT for this danged steel bracket that connects to the metal part of the radiator hose. Have successfully removed the nut from one of the brackets, and I can SEE the nut on the other bracket, but I just don't have the tools required to get it off. Am thinking of dis-assembling the radiator hose to get the belt off. You guys got any tips?
Thanks
Veronica
